Alvaro led Ramiro and Mia to the room where Javier was lying. Mercedes and Lupe were sitting outside. The doctors had to do something and they had to get out. Ramiro stayed a little in the background. Mercedes gave Mia a hard look. Lupe got up and took Alvaro in his arms.
"We won," Alvaro whispered to her. Ramiro sat down next to Mercedes. He too informed her of the result. A doctor came to the door. He looked at Mia and Ramiro and said, "I want to speak to Mr. Paz's family."
"We are all family, "said Alvaro. Mercedes looked at him briefly but said nothing.
"Ok," said the doctor, "well. The patient is stable at the moment. If it stays that way, he will have an operation tomorrow in which we will place two stents. My colleague is currently taking him off the ventilation, then you can see him." .
He looked around briefly and said "please don't go all at once, let's say two and three people each for 5 minutes." He disappeared back into Javier's room.

"I'll go to him when he's better," said Ramiro. Mia stood by him. After a few minutes the doctors all came out of the room and the doctor from before said they could go in now.
Mercedes nodded to Alvaro. Alvaro took Mia by the hand and they went inside together.

Javer opened his eyes. he took Alvaro's hand. "I brought Mia with me." said Alvaro. Javier looked at Mia and nodded slightly. "Hello senor Paz" said Mia.
He tried to smile. "Call me Javier". Mia smiled and nodded.
"We won the competition." said Alvaro. Javier gave his thumbs up and said hoarsely "Congratulations". "Papa, Lupe and Mama are coming to you now. See you tomorrow." said Alvaro and squeezed Javier's hand. Javier took Mia's hand and squeezed it. "Thank you," he said softly.

The students had meanwhile arrived at the school. Zoe and Juanma went to the cafeteria with the others. Gaspar had also come to school, but Florenzia had unfortunately already had to say goodbye. The mood was good. Only Zoe, Juanma and Agus knew where Alvaro, Mia and Lupe were. The others hadn't really noticed the absence either. Simon stood by Zoe and talked nonstop. Juanma had been seized by Nico and Fede. Gaspar had meanwhile gone to see Simon and Zoe. "May I kidnap Zoe for a moment," he asked Simon. Simon looked from one to the other and said "Uh yeah sure" Gaspar led Zoe outside. During the performance he had heard that something was happening and he asked "Where is Mia?"
"Javier, Alvaro's father is in hospital. Alvaro, Mia and Lupe are with him."
"Have you thought about singing together?"
"Gaspar, I really enjoy singing with you. But it should be clear that I'm only doing this in a friendly way. I don't want anything else to be behind." Gaspar took Zoe's hand.
"I am so sorry that I ended this between us. I would love to undo it."

Ramiro met Alvaro and Mia when they came out of the room. He took both briefly in his arms and Lupe and Mercedes went to Javier. Ramiro drove to school with Alvaro and Mia. When they got there, the others were still partying. They were all so happy about the victory and that they could still compete against the other school. Mia saw Zoe talking to Gaspar.

In the cafeteria, Juanma was sitting with Fede, Tobi and Roberto. Mia and Alvaro sat down with them. "Where's Clara" asked Mia. "She wasn't doing so well, she had a headache and wanted to lie down," said Roberto.
Alvaro told the others what had happened and where they had been. Also that his father should have a heart operation the next day. Everyone at the table was quiet for a moment and Tobi then said "He will be fine. Your father was always strong" "
"You wouldn't believe that if you had seen him today," Alvaro said softly. Mia put her hand on his and Junama gave his arm a brief squeeze. At Alvaro, the adrenaline from the day slowly subsided. Little by little he understood what had really happened. Mercedes appeared in the cafeteria and waved Alvaro out. He and Mia exchanged a look and then he left.
