Nothing was planned for the next day. The four of them had made themselves comfortable on the beach. They wanted to plan what to cook on Thursday so they could finish the shopping list.

Alvaro had only asked Ramiro to send him to the village on some pretext so that he could pick up the necklace. Ramiro loved the idea of the mussel on a chain for Mia.

"So what do you think of a few tapas as a starter, then a paella that we can prepare. And mascarpone with cookies and grapes for dessert." asked Juanma

Zoe and Mia were just looking for everything when Alvaro said "Psst Ramiro is coming".

Mia let the note disappear from under her leg. "Hello papa," she called.

"Hello everyone, what are you doing beautiful?"

When the four of them just looked at each other, he said, "I didn't want to disturb you either. I just wanted to show you something, I said I know Dani."

He showed the kids his cell phone. He had Googled Dani and the diving school and found an article from a little over a year ago.

Mia took the cell phone and read aloud:

----
"Lifeguard saves family.
Daniel C. (25) helped save a family of 5 last weekend. The family's boat caught fire for unknown reasons. When the fire was discovered, the people below deck could no longer escaped and went down with the ship. It was about 3 children sleeping at the time and the father who had attempted a rescue.
The called coast guard informed the rescue divers and were able to rescue the tearful mother from the water. Daniel's team  managed to rescue the father and two of the children in a short time. The third child remained missing. It is thanks to the heroic efforts of Daniel C. that he was able to rescue the third child from the wreck under circumstances that were life-threatening for himself.
The family and the rescue diver were taken to the nearby hospital for further examination.

Daniel C had lost his best friend in the sea two years ago because the boat was rammed by a racing boat. He tried to save his friend's life to the last, was able to rescue him, but he died on the way to the hospital. "

---

The four of them all had goosebumps.
"But why did he quit when that situation  with the friend was two years before he saved the child," Zoe asked.
"I think it was a drastic experience and saving the child doesn't seem to have been easy either." said Ramiro. Alvaro nodded. "If you experience something like that more often then it makes you weary."

"You'd better not speak to him about it, ok, I found that while Googling because he looked familiar to me. That was in the reports a couple of times back then." Everyone shook their heads.

"Ok dear ones. Do you have anything else to do?"

"No, so far we just wanted to enjoy the day on the beach. Let's see, it's only noon." said Alvaro.

"Oh Alvaro, you can do me a favor and go back to the supermarket, we need milk."

Alvaro nodded "Sure, Dad I'll do it."

When Ramiro left the four of them alone again, Juanma said, "Will you take me with you to go shopping?"

"Of course you can go with me, will you finish the list in that time?" he asked the girls. Zoe and Mia nodded.

The boys went on their way. The saleswoman in the jewelry store recognized them immediately. "There you are, the chain is ready." She showed it to the boys: "We carefully made a hole in it down there and reinforced it, then pulled the chain through."

Alavaro was delighted with the result.

When they left the shop, Juanma asked "When are you going to give it to her?"

"I'm not sure. If she doesn't ask about the clam again, maybe before I go to my mother's for a few days." Juanma nodded.

The supermarket was quite full and it took them longer than they thought. When they had milk and a few other little things, they were glad to be on their way back to the house.

The girls had helped Isabel with the meal preparation, so that it only had to be warmed up in the evening. She and Ramiro wanted to do another hike, Ramiro wanted to go a little way up into the hills because there should be a nice little lake there.

The two set off. They drove up a bit by car and from there they walked along the mountain path. The guide book hadn't promised too much, it was a picturesque view of the hills with a deep blue lake.

Isabel and Ramiro sat on a blanket in the meadow.

"It's beautiful here," said Isabel.

"Especially with you," Ramiro replied.

"Are you enjoying our vacation"

"Oh yes. I had planned something like this this year. A few days. But then Mercedes was angry that I wanted to take the children with me. It's great to see them like that. To listen to them enjoying the time."

"That's what makes a family. And as we see here, we still have time alone."

Ramiro grinned. He took Isabel's hand. "How long can you stay in Argentina before you have to go back."

"I still have the next week. Then I first have to sort out a few things in Madrid. And maybe I can come back then. Or you and the kids will come back to me at the end of the holidays." Ramiro thought for a moment. "That's a good idea, I'll discuss it with the children. Does the invitation also apply to Zoe and Juanma?"

"If the parents give the OK. It would be a shame if the quartet had to split up," laughed Isabel.
