When they got to school, they told Fede and the others what had happened; word hadn't got around yet. "Who will train us now if Marcello fails?"

Asked Nico. "Let's see if he fails, maybe he will be released from the hospital on Monday," said Fede. They sat together for a while. Everyone perked up when Luis said "maybe I know someone from the race where I did an internship, someone talked about illegal car races."

"But he didn't have to be there," said Roberto.

Luis shrugged his shoulders. "No, he doesn't have to. That's right."

"The police arrested everyone who couldn't get away," said Alvaro. "Maybe he was there."

Mia, Alvaro and Juanma said goodbye early for the night. Alvaro talked a little more about his evening with Javier. Lupe made a balanced impression at the moment and so it was a nice evening. Javier had followed the reports of the internship with interest, but Alvaro had the impression that Javier would rather have a job in the office for him.

Penny had meanwhile also written that Florencia's CT was unchanged. On the one hand that was good because there was no worsening, on the other hand it was bad because then maybe an operation would be necessary. She assured Alvaro that Florencia was in good hands with her treating doctor and promised to contact him again the next day.

Juanma had laid down on Zoe's bed and they had turned on a movie. Mia looked at a few more English vocabulary because a vocabulary test had been announced. Then she snuggled into bed with Alvaro. Juanma couldn't sleep. He had written to Zoe for a long time, and she had made it back home safely. When she had said goodbye for the night, he got up and looked out the window. He couldn't see much of the school grounds in the dark.

He heard Alvaro get up. "Hey, you should at least try to sleep." he said softly.

"I did," said Juanma.

"Do you want to go out for a moment? Just a little walk?" Juanma nodded. Mia would know that ALvaro would be with him in case she woke up.

They both quietly pulled themselves something over and left the school through a back entrance. Alvaro put a stone in between to keep the door from closing.

"We'll go back to her tomorrow after class, okay?" said Alvaro. "Thank you" Juanma nodded. "Does she need anything from home? Shall we bring something for her?" "I'll have a look tomorrow, changing things might be a good idea."

They walked side by side in silence for a while. "How did you deal with Ramiro's accident back then?" asked Juanma.

"Not at all. I took the minutes as they came and tried not to think about anything bad."

"I always think to myself how quickly everything can change. We celebrated a moment before and then ..."

"That's why it's important to use the good moment and live it."

Juanma nodded. "If she doesn't make it, I'll be an orphan. Then I won't have anyone."

Alvaro stopped. He put a hand on Juanma's shoulder. "Hey look at me Juanma. Everything will be fine. It hasn't gotten worse, Penny says that's good. There could have been bleeding. And you will always have someone. First your mother. And Zoe, Mia and me . You know that and you must never forget that. "

Juanma swallowed and nodded. "Thank you, captain. And thank you again,  that Mia ..."

"We're beyond the subject," Alvaro smiled at Juanma. "She will always be there for you. As you are for her."

"I'm glad I have you guys," said Juanma. "I'm glad that we managed to become friends and that everything turned out the way it was."

"I'm also happy about that, because you too have often stood by me when I have problems. And if we stick together, we are stronger than alone."

They slowly went back to school. The stone was still in the door. "If Mia has not noticed now, don't tell her and Zoe that we were gone. They're just worried. But I have such a restlessness, you see. I'm tired, but I can't sleep because I keep thinking. "

" I think that is normal in the situation. If you are too tired tomorrow, then take Ramiro's leave of absence, he will definitely do that. "

"I think school might be good for me. It's distracting." said Juanma.

"Ok, that's your decision," said Alvaro, "but a bit of sleep and rest is also good in a situation like this."

When they came back into the room, Mia was still asleep. The boys got changed and lay down, Alvaro being very careful not to wake Mia. She snuggled closer to Alvaro in her sleep and Alvaro concentrated on her warmth.

He fell asleep quickly. Mia woke up briefly and went into the bathroom. She looked at Juanma but he also seemed to have fallen asleep. She was happy when Zoe was back because he really seemed to miss her. He had one of her shirts in his hand and was holding it. Mia grinned slightly because she was happy for the two of them that they had developed such deep feelings for each other. A look at the clock told  her that she could still sleep a little. She quietly laid down next to Alvaro and fell asleep.
