The next morning they wanted to go to the park. Mia and Alvaro hadn't seen everything the day they were there and Mia was happy to show the others the area.
They prepared something to eat again and started. Alvaro parked the car at a different entrance so that they passed a coastal lake with a large meadow.
They laid out the blankets there and sat down. Isabel had meanwhile reported that she had arrived home safely and Ramiro had started to visit his friend.
Mia went to the water a bit, in which they weren't allowed to swim, but they were allowed to get atleast their feet wet.
Alvaro came to her and took her hand "Everything ok? Do you miss Isabel"
"She'll be back soon," Mia said with a smile. "Actually, I was just thinking how beautiful it is. Great weather, we're all here together and we'll see the turtles again later." Alvaro laughed at the thought of the turtles: "Why do you like them so much?"
"They are always calm and relaxed, but if you look at their eyes, they watch closely. And because they don't let themselves be stressed, they get that old too," Mia said and laughed with him.
"Who gets old" shouted Zoe. "The turtles."
"Do they have other animals here too?" Asked Juanma.
"I think there is a small petting zoo here, if we can find it we can go there too," said Alvaro.
They stayed a bit on the blanket until they decided to explore the park further. "Can we leave the blankets here" asked Zoe.
"I would only take everything personal with us, in case only the blankets and the food are gone," said Alvaro.
"Don't say that, Zoe usually takes the food too," shouted Juanma, who had already taken a few steps.
"Are you saying I eat too much? Am I too fat," Zoe asked with mock indignation.
"I didn't say anything," said Juanma while he ran away from Zoe and then took her in his arms. "I was just kidding," he said softly in her ear. Alvaro and Mia laughed, and Mia soon saw the sign to the turtles. She led the others there, and they were careful to ensure that all doors were closed behind them when they entered the enclosure. "If there will one of them be gone, we'll have it back quickly, they're way too slow," said Zoe.
"Don't underestimate them," said Juanma, "they're turtles, not snails"
There were a couple of very large turtles. "How old are they, 500?" Asked Zoe
"They're not getting that old either. I don't know, just ask them," said Alvaro.
"hahaha" said Zoe and stuck out his tongue to Alvaro.
They left the enclosure after a while and went to look for the petting zoo. They also found a signpost for this and followed it.
There were goats, two donkeys and a peacock in the petting zoo. The goats had kittens and the girls were blown away at petting the little animals. The boys watched the two of them and laughed. "Girls and baby animals ... should we leave them here and move on," Alvaro asked with a laugh. They stayed there for a long time. "I'm hungry, let's go back to our blankets first," said Zoe. "What did I say" said Juanma.
They passed a playground and saw a mother who was standing under a very tall climbing device and calling her child. They were almost over when Mia said "Look how small he is, he can't come down there alone."
The boys looked up at the boy. The device consisted of a wire mesh, which was pulled up like a spider web.
He seemed to have struggled almost to the top and only then had he noticed how high he was. "He's no more than 4 years old, how can you let such a small child climb so high," said Zoe. The boys were on their way to see their mother. "What's the matter?" Asked Juanma. "My son climbed, I looked after my daughter," she pointed to an even smaller girl who was playing in the sand, which the four of them hadn't even noticed before.
"Now he is so high and can't go down." Alvaro looked at Juanma, who nodded. "We're going up and trying to get him down, okay?" asked Alvaro.
"Can you do it?" Asked the mother with a slight doubt.
"It's worth to try," said Juanma. The little boy was crying hard now.
" What's his name?" asked Alvaro. "Thiago" answered the mother. "My name is Elena" she continued. Juanma introduced himself and Alvaro and pointed to the girls and said the names. Both girls had walked near the little girl to keep an eye on her.
Alvaro had already climbed a bit. At first he kept his distance from the child. Juanma climbed directly below the boy as much as possible.
Elena kept telling her son that the boys were going to get him. He cried and called for his mother. Alvaro was now on the same level and slowly shuffled towards Thiago. He spoke reassuringly to the child. He exchanged a look with Juanma who was standing directly below the boy nodding and Alvaro said"Thiago, I'll take you down, let go of the rope and hold on to me." The little one shook his head and cried. Alvaro said to Juanma, "As long as he doesn't let go, I can't take him."
Thiagos mother keeps telling her son that he should hold onto Alvaro, but the little one shook his head vehemently.
