Juanma climbed a little higher so that he could support the boy with his body. He told Thiago at every step what he would do and that he should not be afraid. When Juanma had secured him, Alvaro came a little closer again. He took Thiagos hand, but let it lie on the rope. The little one looked at it with teary eyes, he forgot for a moment that he had cried out of sheer shock. Juanma said "Thiago, my friend will take your hands and you put them around his neck and hold on tight, ok" Thiago turned his head to Juanma. He let go with one hand and grabbed Juanma's arm, which was next to his . "You do that very well" said Alvaro and put his arm out to grab the little one. Juanma shifted his arm to clear the way and Alvaro said "You have to let go of with other hand. "Thiago shook his head." Thiago, I'm right behind you, I'll hold you until you're safe with Alvaro, "Juanma said in a calm voice.
In the meantime, Zoe had stood next to Elena, who was standing on the floor completely dissolved, but tried not to reflect this in her voice.
Thiago slowly let go of the rope and clung to Alvaro's neck while Juanma held him from behind. "Can you do it?" Asked Juanma. "I'll try, stay as close as you can." Very slowly the two climbed down the spider web, Juanma always ready to intervene if Alvaro got a problem.
What seemed like hours to Elena were actually only minutes and then the little one stood in front of her again. She took him exuberantly in her arms and Thiago immediately began to cry again. In the meantime, his little sister had crawled under Mias company over to the group and pulled on her mother's pant leg. Mia picked her up and held her to her mom.
Elena thanked the boys profusely. A rock fell from her heart when Thiago was with her again. After a moment of joy, the four said goodbye.
"In between I thought you couldn't hold on," said Mia.
"That was almost like that once, but it worked."
When they got to their picnic area, the boys dropped onto the blankets. Zoe gave both of them something to drink and some bread.
The girls gave the boys a little break and went back into the water with their feet.
"We have to remember when we have children, always take a leash with us," said Zoe, laughing. "It's also difficult to take care of two, but she should have noticed the little one before he had reached this height." Mia said.
"I think Alvaro was injured, I had the impression he had pain in his back, pay attention to it," said Zoe.
"I also had the impression when he sat down earlier," Mia said.
"In between I was really afraid that the little one would panic," said Juanma to Alvaro.
"He held on pretty tight when he had the nerve to let go of the rope," said Alvaro. The girls came back. "Are you fit again" asked Mia. "But always" said Juanma "what are you going to do?" "Further through, there should be a small stream where you can run through, that would be a great cooling off in the warmth, wouldn't it?"
"I told Mia I want to lie in the sun," said Zoe.
"I'll go with you" said Alvaro and let Mia pull him up.
"I'll come with you too," said Juanma, which caused Zoe to pout. "No... joke," he said, laughing, "I'll stay with you:"
Juanma watched Mia and Alvaro leave. " Everything OK?" asked Zoe.
Juanma nodded. "Being a parent is a difficult task."
"Why" asked Zoe.
"Well think about it, how would you have felt standing down there. Well, I would have died. She couldn't leave the little girl alone either."
"do you have concerns that we would be overwhelmed with something like that?" asked Zoe. "We still have some time before that comes into question," said Juanma.
"But you already think about it .."
"Yes, I think about it, it looks so simple. We all grew up safe and sound. But did you see the fear in the mother's eyes?"
"Yes, I did, but Juanma, being a parent, means that you are worried. It's like with us. We love each other and we also worry about each other. And with children this is intensified again because they are more helpless than any of us. "
"You're right, but I've been thinking about it so much. But as I said, we still have a lot of time."
Zoe nodded and took him in her arms. She noticed that Juanma was very concerned about the future. She thought it was nice, she just hoped he wasn't really too scared to have children at some point.
