Ramiro had suggested that they all should go out to dinner again in the evening. The kids wanted to spend the last day on the beach.
They took the mattresses with them again and the girls let themselves be carried by the waves. The boys dived and swam around them, Isabel and Ramiro already tidied up a few things in the house.
"Have you thought about going back here with the kids for a few more days?" asked Isabel.
"The owner said that it would be free at the very end of the holidays. We could arrive on Wednesday and go home on Sunday, and school will be back on Monday. He said something had to be done on a line in the house, so he would even be glad if someone were here and we could use the house without paying. Then the flight costs would be worth it. "
Isabel nodded. "It's been three days here after all. And it would do Alvaro very well to have something nice in front of him again when he is supposed to go home. That shouldn't sound bad, but I think the separation is very difficult for him."
"I haven't booked yet, but he won't be renting it out."
Alvaro swam over to Mia and pushed her mattress in front of him. "Ramiro solved that well, didn't you think?" Mia asked.
"Yes, he did, although I still think that every day we're apart is too much."
" You're right."
Alvaro held onto the mattress and they let themselves drift a bit. Both lingered on their thoughts. Alvaro didn't want to tell Mia about Juanma's offer at first because he didn't know what to expect at home.
Later they all lay together on the towels on the beach. "I will miss the peace and quiet here when we are at home," said Juanma, looking out to sea. "Fortunately, we haven't school for a while." said Zoe.
Although the atmosphere was not as lively as on the other days, the four of them enjoyed the day on the beach. Mia and Alvaro wanted to take another walk before they had to go back to the house.
"Did you speak to Lupe again" asked Mia. "No, she just wrote me that she met Gaspar on Sunday and that she will tell me everything when we see each other. Do you know anything from Gaspar?"
"No, I haven't heard from him and to be honest, the days have passed so quickly here that it seems like yesterday that I spoke to him on the phone. Sorry, I could have written to him again."
"It doesn't matter, we'll find out soon enough what they did," said Alvaro.
They walked hand in hand to some rocks. Alvaro sat down and Mia sat down in front of him so that she could lean against him.
"It's nice with Isabel and Ramiro, I'm really happy for them both," said Mia.
"Yes, me too. They make a happy impression. Ramiro is smiling more again," said Alvaro.
Zoe and Juanma had already gone to the house. They wanted to pack a few things. "When the next week is behind us, we will spend the rest of the vacation together," asked Juanma.
"My mother said that we should come to see them after the weekend. So basically the week. My parents still have vacation."
Ramiro had ordered a table in the restaurant from the last time. They enjoyed the view of the sea at dusk one last time. Ramiro felt that the four of them were a bit sad and said "Unfortunately, everything nice will come to an end. But we can look forward to the next time."
Alavro had suggested to the others to go back to Dani and Toni's on Saturday to say goodbye. So they could go down to the beach again in the evening.
Mia had taken an empty bottle to collect sand. "What are you going to do?" Asked Zoe.
"I collected some mussels and I thought we would make a plate in our room with sand and mussels from here. That little bit of holiday feeling at school" Zoe nodded.
"Alvaro, you still have my little shell, don't you?" Asked Mia. Alvaro nodded," It's in my pocket, but I've already packed the pants. "He said and looked briefly at Juanma. Juanma grinned.
They sat on the beach for a while and Mia said "I wish we had a time machine", everyone nodded and Juanma said: "but we will be back someday." He squeezed Zoe's hand. He too would miss Zoe very much. They wouldn't be separated in such difficult conditions as Alvaro and Mia, but he had got used to having them around him. He had had a really great time with the others and he knew it would be difficult for him to return to everyday life.
When they went to the house, Isabel and Ramiro were also still sitting on the terrace. Ramiro asked "Do you have everything ready for tomorrow"
"Don't remind me of that, Papa, I just pushed that aside," Mia said with a weak grin.
"If you want, we can spend another three days here at the end of the vacation. But I wanted to leave that open because I have to see if I have any issues to clarify that require my presence at home." All four nodded enthusiastically.
When Alvaro and Mia were in bed, Mia said "it would be a dream to be here for a few more days. Then we have something again to look forward to in the next few days." Alvaro nodded and took her tightly in his arms.
