Alvaro then said: "I'll look for Lupe now. We're writing, okay?"

Mia nodded, remembering that Alvaro couldn't see that. "Yes, of course. I miss you."

" I miss you too." said Alvaro. "I love you"

"I love you too," Mia said and Avaro hung up.

Mia sat on the bed for a moment, phone in hand. Then she remembered that she was planning to take a shower when the phone rang.

She took her little bag and left the room. She met Isabel in the hall.

"Called Alvaro" asked Isabel. Mia nodded and briefly told what ALvaro had said.

Isabel nodded thoughtfully. "Ramiro will talk to her" she said then. "Did you want to take a shower?" Mia nodded. Isabel glanced at the open pocket. " What is this?" she asked, pulling on something what looked like paper.

Mia pulled it out and saw that it was an envelope. She looked at Isabel and opened it. A silver bracelet, to which the small shell was attached, fell towards her. She looked at Isabel and showed her the bracelet. "I found the shell while I was walking along the beach with Alvaro," she said with beaming eyes. Isabel laughed at her and looked at the bracelet. When Ramiro came over, he said smiling "Do my two favorite ladies have secrets?"

Isabel laughed and showed the bracelet with a look at Mia. "There's still something in there," said Mia and took out the folded sheet.

Dear Mia,

it's our last day at the beach and I'm sitting by the sea. The vacation with you was indescribable and it breaks my heart to know that we will only be together until Sunday. I can't wait to hug you again after these days of separation. I know you are in the best of hands with Papa and Isabel. I love you more than I can put into words. You are everything I ever wished for, when I take off too much, you bring me back to the ground, if I am down, then you pull me up. I remember it was like yesterday when we first met in the storage room. It was like fireworks what was going on in me at the moment and I thank you for every single minute that we spend together. I had the shell made for you as a bracelet so that you have something that reminds you of our great time here and tells you every day how much I love you.

We still enjoy the time together and then the days of separation fly by. Then we'll have the rest of the vacation together again.

I love you. I will take a part of your heart with me and give you a part of mine. So we are always together.

Mia had tears in her eyes from being overwhelmed. Isabel took her in her arms and caught a tear on her cheek.

"It's nice that he loves you so much," Isabel said, giving Mia a hug while exchanging a look with Ramiro. Alvaro seemed very much like him, having written a letter to Mariana too. "Will you help me put the bracelet on after the shower?" Mia asked.

"Of course I'll do that," said Isabel.

Alvaro had spent a little time in his room. There was a knock on his door and Lupe came in. "Are you coming back down? We could watch a movie" Alvaro nodded.

He put down his cell phone and went down the stairs with his sister. Lupe had put popcorn on the table and said "I've made it comfortable for us before." Alvaro put his arm around her.

They sit down on the couch together. Lupe started a movie she thought might suit Alvaro's taste.

"I thought you'd enjoy a bit of comfort," said Lupe.

"Thank you Lupe, that's a nice idea."

"Don't take mom so seriously. She got into it."

"But it doesn't matter what I say, she pulls everything into the negative. She doesn't leave good hair on Mia and everything that is related to her."

"It's true that everything changed with Mia's arrival." said Lupe.

"But that's not Mia's fault. And neither is mine. And I don't see that we have to atone for our parents' mistakes. Whatever went wrong, whoever's to blame, it should end here and now. Because so the family is further destroyed.

Mercedes had come quietly down the stairs and heard Alvaro's words.

"That's right my son" she said now and Lupe and Alvaro winced. "But it won't change as long as this woman approaches Ramiro and takes everything that is due to me. And I will not tolerate Mia in this family, because you are MY son and not Ramiros."

Alvaro had got up a little while Mercedes was speaking. "Have you all thought about what you are doing to us children with your principles and arguments? Have you thought that it is not you who are the victim of everything, but Lupe and I. I have already said that I will not bear the arguments again. And I'll stay with that. If Mia doesn't belong to the family, I don't belong to the family either. "

"But Ramiro is playing your father against me," Mercedes hurled at him.

"Yes he does. Why then? Because you withdraw into your stubbornness and impose prohibitions that make no sense. You know Ramiro, who was always more of a parent to me, tried to protect us  as a family. Ramiro never left anything out on us children. " He took a deep breath.
