On Wednesday the students had another lesson with Alex. An all-boys group had been found, consisting of Juanma, Alvaro, Fede and Nico. Alex had listened to two songs and thought the ideas were good. They tried to get Simon included to  the group performance, but he didn't want to. Alex had also listened to a couple of duos. But here he has not yet made a decision.

After school it should start for the six and Ramiro and Isabel  in direction ranch-holliday. They had already packed the cars and started after lunch.

The trip went without incident, they drove through a very beautiful landscape. Alberto's ranch was isolated between meadows and fields. After a little bit of forest they saw the house in front of them. Ramiro got out and walked towards the ranch house. He was about to knock when a man with  a hat opened the door and greeted Ramiro warmly. By now, Isabel and the others had got out of the cars as well. Alberto came to them with Ramiro and greeted everyone. "If you want to unpack everything first, drive on along the way and then you come to the bungalows. The keys are in, but you don't need to lock them out here."

The bungalows were small log cabins. Mia, Alvaro, Juanma and Zoe took one, Isabel and Ramiro another, and Roberto and Clara also had one of their own. There was still one over, but the four decided to stay together. The huts were all equally divided and lovingly furnished. They felt very comfortable from the first moment.

They each had a few pieces of furniture on the wooden terrace, where they could sit outside. There was a small stable there, but it was empty.

They drove back to the main house in two cars, where Alberto was waiting for them.

Ramiro said "The huts are a dream, since when have you had them?"

"For a couple of years. It was a dream of my big daughter Lara. She also takes care of everything, but is not there this weekend. So if something goes wrong, let me know." A girl about Alvaro's age came out the door with juice and some glasses. "That's Ruby. She's been taking care of the horses here since my wife's gone, "said Alberto.

"Do you want to take a look at the horses?" she asked the students and everyone nodded.

She went to the pasture with them. Halters and ropes hung from the fence. Everybody should take  a halter and a rope and come along. Clara took the both and took Roberto's hand. Roberto followed Ruby. The horses stood quietly in the pasture and looked curiously at the newcomers. "You do not need to be afraid, the animals will not harm you. But you should know that they feel fear or excitement, just as when you are calm."

She spoke to Roberto. " What's your name?" Roberto said his name. The others also introduced themselves one by one. "Ok Roberto, you go to the brown horse and try to put on the halter." She went with him. Roberto had done something like this before and put on the halter almost professionally. Ruby smiled. She gradually led everyone to one horse at a time and helped when someone needed help. They'd all done very well, and Ruby smiled. "You're doing great. Get to know your new friends a little first."

She showed them how to lead and groom the horses. When they were all in the boxes, she showed the students how much feed each horse needed. "Come with me and I'll show you something." She took a black horse out of the box and led it into a circle that was secured with a fence. She attached a lunge and lunged the horse.

"His name is Vento. I've had him for 5 years."

She changed direction in a circle and Vento kept walking around her. Then, when he was standing, she walked up to him, clicked the lunge, and turned her back on him. She took a few steps away  and stood with her back to him. After a moment the horse walked up to her and nudged her lightly on the back. Ruby gave him a treat. "These are confidence exercises," she said. "Tomorrow we'll see how you do your horse riding."

"May I stay in the stable" asked Mia, who had received a white horse named Pegasus. "Sure, you can also go into the box, just make sure that it is firmly closed again when you leave it."

Mia nodded. Alvaro went with her. "It's great," he said.

"Yes, but also very big" laughed Mia. She sidled into the straw and Pagasus came to her hand with his nose. "It's very warm," Mia said, "and his breath tickles my hand.

Juanma, Roberto, Clara and Zoe had Ruby show them the saddles and the rest of the stable. "What's up there" Zoe pointed to a flight of stairs. "That's where our employee Travis lives. He's not from here. He's my boyfriend," added Ruby with a wink.

When they were back with Ramiro, Alberto said "You have to persuade Ramiro to ride with you. So that he can have a bit of adventure. We have Isabel so far that she said yes." He laughed.
