It was finally here, the day when they all came together again. Alvaro said goodbye to Mercedes. "Will you come again in the near future?" She asked.

"We write or phone in the days, then we make something up," he said vaguely. Saying goodbye to Lupe was a little harder for him.

He started to Ramiro where all were allrady in hurry. Ramiro had already brought Isabel's luggage into his car and when Alvaro arrived he had almost no time to greet Mia. Ramiro laughed and said "You saw each other the day before yesterday, what should I say in the next few days"

Isabel didn't like goodbyes any more than Mia did. They took Isabel to check-in at the airport. Isabel took Mia tight in her arms and said "I'll be back soon". But she couldn't stop a tear from running down her cheek. Mia had tears in her eyes too. Alvaro put his arm around her. Isabel also hugged Alvaro and said "You will take good care of her, promise?" "Of course, Isabel," said Alvaro and took her again in his arms.

Mia and Alvaro then wanted to go to Zoe, so the farewell was kept shorter and Ramiro and Isabel still had a little time to themselves.

Zoe was sitting on the steps in front of her house and  almost jumped in front of the car for joy. She hugged them both tightly and said "I'm done, we can go."

Mia said "But we want to say hello to your parents at least. They all three went in. Zoe's parents were happy to see Alvaro and Mia. Then it started, they started to Juanma. He was already waiting because Mia had told him that they were there at any moment. Zoe opened her door before Alvaro had stopped completely and fell into Juanma's arms. "As if they hadn't seen each other for 8 weeks," Alvaro said with a laugh  "Well we have good talk, we didn't even last four days," said Mia.

In the meantime they had got out and said hello to Juanma.

"Come on bring your things up." said Juanma.

"What do we do now?" Asked Juanma. "We can go to the park where I was with Mia," said Alvaro. "Let's do that tomorrow, today it's already too late if we want to be back for dinner," said Mia.

"To the river," said Zoe. "I got a picnic picture from one of you last time," she said with a wink.

"Ok, let's take a little something with us and then start," said Juanma.

After everything was prepared, they started. They found a nice place where they were a little to themselves and spread the blankets.

Alvaro took Mia by the hand and led her a bit along the river. "Let's leave the two of them alone for a bit," he said with a grin.

"You don't believe how long it was from Tuesday to this morning without seeing you," said Alvaro and sat down on a stone. Mia sat down in front of him and leaned against him. Alvaro put his arms around her and held her tight.

"Not as long as it was for me," Mia said with a smile.

"I'm glad we're together again," said Alvaro. "It was weird falling asleep without you. The bed was way too big,"

Mia turned to him. "I felt the same way. But I had your bracelet. And it helped, every time I looked at it, it reminded me of your love."

"That was the point," said Alvaro, "did you really trust me to lose your shell?"

Mia hugged him. "It could have been that it fell out of your pocket." Mia said softly.

"Juanma helped me with the idea," said Alvaro.

"You always plan things like that together," said Mia. "I'm very happy that you stick together so well."

"When we called you, it was really stressful at home again. I just had to get out, but didn't want to be alone . So I called Juanma. I didn't want to worry you and Ramiro would have asked too. " "But you know you could have called me right?"

"Mia I know and you have no idea how much I wanted it. But you would have been worried and I would have upset everyone again. Everything was ok when I picked up Juanma." Mia took him in her arms. She had an inkling of how he'd felt. And she was glad he had Juanma with him. "Maybe Mercedes will think about one thing or the other, even if Lupe is gone with Ramiro. Maybe something will change"

"I don't recognize her. You know, she bathed us and put us to bed. Fetched a band-aid when we were injured. She could scold and scold. But that ... the way she is now, I don't know . " said Alvaro sadly and had tears in his eyes.

Mia took him in her arms. "She has to process a lot and also understand that she has made mistakes. It's not always easy, we know that ourselves. Give her time." Alvaro nodded. After all, it was so incredibly good to hear her say that. To hear her voice. He hugged her again. " You're the best thing that ever happened to me." he said.

"I can gladly give that back to you" said Mia and kissed him.
