The food was delicious and everyone was hungry from the water and all the fresh air. Isabel was a little tired of the flight, so  she retired early. Ramiro  sat with the kids for a moment, but went alsoa bit later to bed.

Alvaro and Mia had huddled on a deck chair under a thin blanket and Mia was looking at the sky. "Have you seen great fish while diving?"

"We were a coral reef in Mexico, there were a lot of colorful fish, they were biting at my legs."Alvaro laughed.

"Are you serious now;" said Zoe who sat with Juanma on a bench  nearby the two. "You can forget that, I'm not going to do it."

"Take it easy, Zoe," said Juanma. "that was just fun"

Juanma and Zoe wanted to walk a bit at the beach. "If you found scuba tanks, make sure that Zoe doesn't dive too deep, the sharks don't sleep." Alvaro said with a laugh and Zoe turned around and stuck out her tongue.

Mia and Alvaro heared Zoe saying to Juanma: "There aren't really sharks here, are there," and they laughed. "Stop that otherwise she won't participate," Mia said to Alvaro with mock reproach.

"Oh, I think she will, give her a little time."

"Isabel and Ramiro are sleeping in the same room," Mia said and grinned.

"Did you doubt it," says Alvaro. "Where else she or Ramiro should sleep". said Alvaro.

Mia just grinned.
Alvaro took her hand. "Do you know how much I've wished for the last few days to lie here with you, just the two of us," he said. "It was such an incredibly long year."
"And now we're finally here, listening to the sea and lying under the stars," Mia said and they both had to laugh.
"Will you stay with me while diving" she then asked.
"Ther have to stay always two persons together anyway. And of course I will if you trust me," said Alvaro. "Without you I would be too scared"
"You don't need that. You have oxygen with you and we will never be so deep that it can be dangerous". said Alvaro.
For a while neither said anything. Alvaro hung on to his thoughts a little. Lupe and his mother wanted to start today too. He considered writing to Lupe, but then postponed it until tomorrow.
"Ramiro looks happy with Isabel," Mia interrupted his thoughts.
"yes that's right. If she's half like you, she'll be balm on his soul." said Alvaro.

Juanma and Zoe had been walking along the beach for a while. Zoe hadn't said anything else. "Are you worried" asked Juanma.
"I'm scared of the diving thing. And you're all mad at me if I don't do it."
Juanma stopped and turned to Zoe. "Nobody will be angry. If you want, I won't go diving either. With fear it certainly doesn't make any sense, it's supposed to be fun."
"No, you definitely go, that is quite something for you and Alvaro. "
"You just have a look when we go there tomorrow." He took her in his arms. He really hoped that she would overcome her fear, but he made the offer not to dive without her seriously.
"Shall we go back? It's getting late and I'm sure Alvaro and Mia are waiting for us," Zoe asked. Juanma nodded. He put his arm around Zoe and they went back to the house.
Mia and Alvaro were indeed waiting for them. They quickly cleared away all the glasses. As they headed for the stairs, Juanma said to Alvaro "Hey do you have a moment?" Alvaro nodded and gave Mia a kiss.
The girls went upstairs, not without giving the boys curious looks.

" What's happening?" asked Alvaro. "Zoe is terrified of diving, I would love to experience that with her, but I have offered her not to dive if she is too scared."
Alvaro nodded. "I noticed that she was scared, we'll look at it tomorrow. We don't have to do that if it's strange for the girls."
"ok. I think it would be really cool to really do that," said Juanma.
"We'll do that too, and if only we go on a dive on our own, okay? Promise"
"Maybe you can talk to her about it because you've done that before."
"She has to get used to the thought. And we'll do it slowly. And if she doesn't want to, then she doesn't have to. But of course I'll talk to her. And you'll definitely go diving, okay?"

Juanma nodded. "How are you with Isabel and Ramiro?"
"It's great for Ramiro. But I'm mostly worried about Lupe. She feels alone right now, especially where everyone is leaving with friends or parents."
"I know, but maybe Gaspar is doing her good after all."
"I hope so," said Alvaro, a little sadly.
"Alvaro, Mia talked to Gaspar. He wanted to write to her, we really didn't want to tell you. But I think it's good if you know, please don't tell Mia."
"No I don't, but why shouldn't I know"
"I don't know. The girls and Isabel agreed in this point. I think so that you don't worry about what's going to happen to the two of them."
"Yes, they are somehow right. But still good that you told me. I hope the two of them will see each other now on vacation. And maybe it will work out with both of them."
After a moment he said: "Let's go to the girls. They'll be waiting for us"
