Ramiro and Isabel really enjoyed the evening. The kids had cooked very well and they both enjoyed the relaxed and romantic atmosphere. When they were sitting on the terrace after dinner, Ramiro took Isabel's hand. "Isabel, I've been thinking about something for a long time. I've enjoyed your company here so much and to be honest, I'm happier than I have been in a long time. I can't imagine we'll have to separate again."

He paused for a moment and saw that Isabel had tears in her eyes. He got up and pulled her up. Then he took her in his arms and led her to the edge of the terrace, from where they had a very nice view of the sea. Ramiro took her hand and kissed it. He looked her in the eye and said: "I know we have to separate spatially first. But it would be easier for me to think that our hearts belong together."

Isabel hugged him. "I feel the same way Ramiro. I never wanted to make you feel this because I thought you needed some time after everything." "What I need is you," Ramiro said softly.

When the four of them got to the house, Ramiro and Isabel were still awake. They sat together on the terrace. Ramiro got up when the kids came. "You really surprised us and with the food you could win a prize" he said and took Mia, then Alvaro and then Zoe and Juanma in his arms. Mia smiled at him. She looked briefly at Alvaro and then took Ramiro again in her arms. "Was everything ok with you?" Ramiro asked and Isabel joined them.

"Was there something with Dani and Toni?" She asked when the four said nothing.

Alvaro and Mia exchanged a look and so Zoe said: "It was great with both of them, they are really very nice. But Mercedes would like to pick up Alvaro directly at the airport on Saturday. And we had actually thought that we would all be together at Ramiro until Sunday" Ramiro looked from the kids to Isabel.

Then he said:"I'll call Mercedes tomorrow. We won't be there until the evening and I thought the same as you did. Isabel and I had discussed that we should order pizza and end the vacation together." He looked to Alvaro and said "Don't worry, Alvaro."

"She didn't want to discuss with me. But I don't want to go to mom right away."

Ramiro looked at Mia and then at Alvaro again. "We'll clarify this with her tomorrow, today it's too late to call her" He put a hand on Alvaro 's shoulder. "We still have tomorrow here. We won't let it spoil now, right" All four shook their heads, albeit a little hesitantly.

When Mia and Alvaro were in the room, Mia said, "Ramiro will definitely clarify this with Mercedes tomorrow."

Alvaro nodded, but then said: "She insisted that I come to her immediately. After Ramiro had me with him for two weeks, it was her right, she said." "This is revenge that Isabel is here." said Mia sadly.

Alvaro took her in his arms. "If she wants it, we'll do it that way. Maybe then she'll be satisfied and I can see you in between. Or I'll only stay two or three days."

"Every hour we're apart is actually too much, especially now after two such beautiful weeks," Mia said, trying to suppress tears. Her head was resting on Alvaro's chest. But he felt something wet on his T-shirt and carefully straightened up. "Mia please don't cry. It's not forever. Ramiro and Isabel have to part a lot longer," he said.

"But they aren't either ... Wait, do you know something?"

"I don't know anything, but I got the impression that their views of each other are different. But no matter what, they definitely have feelings for each other."

Mia smiled through her tears. Seeing Ramiro happy was one of her greatest wishes. The same she felt  of Isabel. "I like you that way, if you smile," said Alvaro affectionately. "We'll get through anything. No matter what. But we won't give up without a fight," he added with a smile.

He took Mia in his arms again. It would be hard not to see her. But it was coming anyway. And if Ramiro didn't manage to convince Mercedes, he would say goodbye to Mia here to make it special.

He let Dani's words go through his head again. He didn't want to argue with Mercedes, there had been enough arguments in the family in the end. It wouldn't do Lupe any good either. But he loved Mia and nobody would change that. Mia seemed to feel his thoughts and sat up again. "Mercedes will never accept me. Unfortunately we will have to get used to that. But promise me that we will never do that to our children."

"We won't do that, I promise. And the last word about accepting has not yet been spoken," said Alvaro.

"I felt like it was a new start after we were with Javier when he came out of the hospital and I don't know what I did wrong again, that she is now so dismissive again," Mia said.

Alvaro stroked her cheek. "Mia, you didn't do anything wrong. She's just disappointed that the second marriage is going to break. If you weren't Ramiro's daughter, she would love you."

"But I didn't choose that. I didn't know anything about any of this when I wanted to go to his school. I didn't know that Isabel knew Ramiro. And that she knew him that well, least of all."
