They started the next day after breakfast. It was a very nice day and they had a picnic with them. The way up to the lake was steep and they were all glad when they reached the top.

The lake spread out before them. On one side there was a laid-out beach that could also be reached by car. They were on the opposite side and there wasn't much going on. The lake was big and there were a few people with canoes and a few families with their towels spread out on the beach side. Most of them were families with children for whom the sea was perhaps too dangerous. Various wooden islands were anchored on the lake, to which one could also retreat. "How deep is the lake?" asked Zoe. "According to the travel guide, the deepest point is 45 meters. But opposite has been artificially made shallower."

The boys were in the water before the towels were on the floor. They swam to the first island and called the girls. Ramiro and Isabel wanted to walk around the lake. The kids romped in the water until the girls got cold. They sat on the towels and ransacked the picnic.

"It's great here," said Mia. "Although I love the sea more"

Everyone nodded and Alvaro said: "But said water here doesn't sting your eyes".

Alvaro's cell phone rang and it was Ramiro. "Alvaro can you call Dani? A child is missing here who was submerged in the lake. I thought Dani could .."

"I'll call him." Alvaro said. He called Dani and told him what he knew. Dani immediately set off. The four walked around the lake to the beachside. Ramiro and Isabel stood with the children's parents. There were two families each with one son. The boys wanted to try out the diving equipment in the lake before one of the fathers wanted to take them on a dive in the sea. Isabel stood with the tearful mother of the missing child. The other boy had lost sight of his friend and showed up at the surface.

Dani had arrived. He let the boy explain to him where they had dived and how long ago that was "I can go down with you if you have a second set of equipment" said Alvaro and followed Dani to the car. "Are you sure? I don't know what we'll find down there, otherwise I also dive alone." "But maybe you need help if he's tangled up in plants"

Dani had got ready during the discussion "Ok hurry up, I'll get an overview, but you stay close to me." Alvaro quickly pulled on a suit that was certainly from Toni and therefore a little too big for him. When he was at the water he waved to Juanma and the girls briefly and disappeared under the water with Dani. Mia had taken Zoe's hand and Juanma was standing with Ramiro and said "How can they send two boys of that age into the water alone with diving equipment". Ramiro put his finger to his lips. "The parents are already blaming themselves" Juanma shrugged his shoulders.

Alvaro and Dani dived close to the bottom. It was difficult to see with thick vegetation. Nevertheless, Dani suddenly pulled Alvaro's arm and pointed to the right. There he was, the boy with the diving bottle. Dani swam towards him. The feet were hanging in a canopy, but Dani didn't care at first. He checked the air gauge, it was at zero. Alvaro freed the boy's legs from the plant. Dani had put his elderly regulator in the boy's mouth and was pumping lightly. When the legs were free they appeared. They swam to the bank with the boy, Dani laid him in the sand and took the regulator out of his mouth. He tried mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while the child's mother begged "Please wake up"

The father tried to get to the boy, but Alvaro held him back. "Leave Dani room," he said. Ramiro had called an ambulance beforehand, and it was arriving. The paramedics and ambulance ran towards the crowd. "The oxygen was empty, faint heartbeats, no breathing, time period unknown," said Dani and took a step back. The ambulance injected medicine while the paramedics took over the ventilation. Suddenly the boy coughed and spat out a lot of water. Everyone on the beach breathed a sigh of relief. Dani took a deep breath, turned and walked towards his car. Alvaro accompanied him and when Dani said nothing, he said "Everything ok?" Dani nodded. "There would have to be a license to raise children." Alvaro knew what he was referring to. Sending two boys into the lake alone with  equipment was more than reckless. The boy was stabilized and the emergency doctor let describe everything that was known .He blamed the parents, with the same word  as everyone had thought. Dani assumed that for some reason the boy had panicked and then got tangled up in the creepers with frantic movements. The ambulance said, "We'll take him for observation. One person is allowed to come along."

Mia, Zoe and Juanma were now with Alvaro, while Isabel accompanied the tearful mother to the ambulance.

Ramiro was talking to Dani when the father came over and thanked Dani. "Without you my boy would be ..." Dani interrupted him. "Everything went well. But please don't let the children dive unsupervised. They are still too young for scuba diving anyway. I assume neither of themis 12 yet?" The father shook his head. Dani nodded. Alvaro could see that he had liked to say a few more things. But he didn'say nothing. Several other beachgoers had already insulted the parents. And the emergency doctor had also used clear words and said something about " reporting to the police".

"Take good care of your son in the future," said Dani and turned around to walk towards Alvaro and the others. The girls took Dani in their arms.

"You were good," he said to Alvaro. "The calm in person. I'm proud of you," he patted Alvaros shoulder. "Thank you for being there so quickly," said Alvaro. Dani nodded. "See you soon," he said, saying goodbye to everyone, then to Ramiro and Isabel, and got into his car.
