Mia fell asleep quickly in Alvaro's arms and Zoe fell asleep early too. Juanma noticed that Alvaro got up and left the room. After a moment he followed him.

Alvaro was in the cafeteria fetching water. He winced a little when he heard Juanma behind him "Everything is ok with you" asked Juanma. Alvaro sat down on one of the chairs. "Thanks for being on the GO with Mia," he said instead of answering. " No problem." said Juanma. " But what about you?"

"I got the impression I couldn't really be there for her," said Alvaro. "She was sad and my thoughts were with my mother."

"Of course you were there for her. And she was there for you," said Juanma. "She notices that you are burdened with Mercedes."

"Yes, and I'm afraid that she'll question everything again and blame herself," said Alvaro, placing the bottle of water a little more firmly on the table. Juanma held his wrist. "Captain, we won't allow that. Okay? If she mentions something like that to me, I'll try to talk her out of it." After a while he said, "Maybe we should talk to your mother together. Or I don't know. But so it can't go any further. You will break , and so will Lupe. "

Alvaro nodded. "Whenever I think she has caught herself, she starts all over again." He took a deep breath. "How did Mia seem to you?"

"She has the same thoughts as I have on the subject and she misses her mother. Actually, everything is normal. Do you know why she hasn't been to the grave for so long?" asked Juanma.

"Except that she cried a lot the last time and Isabel didn't take her with her I don't know anymore," said Alvaro.

Juanma nodded. "She may have to process the grave now."

"I feel like I haven't given her enough comfort." said Alvaro

"Yes you did. It was all good. She noticed that you were sad, but that's okay too, these are your feelings."

"You know, Isabel is a lot more like a mother than my mother and it hurts to have to admit that. Then I have the feeling that I am betraying my mother. But it's not my fault that I feel that way. Isabel and Ramiro make me feel like family. "

"It's Mercedes herself to blame, even if you don't like to hear that now either. And Ramiro has always been part of your family and continues to be."

Alvaro nodded. "I'm happy that he is with Isabel and that it fits very well, but now my mother has two points of attack. Isabel and Mia."

"She will have to get used to it," said Juanma. "I don't think Ramiro sees it differently. And who knows, maybe she'll get used to it in a while. She must also realize that she'll lose you and Lupe in the long run."

"I hope so," said Alvaro. After a moment of silence, he said: "My mother would like to allow the internships, she told me. Do you have any idea what you want to do?"

"Something that has to do with dancing, I think," said Juanma. "And you"

"I would like to do something where I can help people. In the hospital maybe," said Alvaro.

"That might be something for you. There's no diving school around here," said Juanma and laughed.

"Dancing, maybe Charlie Martin could help, right?"

"It's a good idea," said Juanma, "we have to ask Ramiro about it.

"It should be made official by the end of the week my mother told me..

"But you shouldn't do any more beause you are in the senior year," said Juanma.

"I told her that it might not be wrong for us either. We also have a few in our class who don't want to go to university. Maybe they'll find ideas."

Juanma nodded. "It would be cool if we could all do something together."

"But that's not supposed to be the point," said Alvaro.

They heard steps in the stairwell. A moment later, Mia was standing in front of them. "Here you are," she said. "I woke up and you were both gone." Alvaro pulled her onto his lap.

"I wanted to get some water and suddenly Juanma was standing behind me," he said. " How are you?"

"Everything ok" said Mia and gave him a kiss. Alvaro hugged her. "I felt like I was too busy with my family, instead of comforting you" he said. Mia shook her head.

"I'm glad you were with me," she said. "There were a lot of feelings and I am glad that you were there and that we went to the river later."

She put her head on Alvaro's shoulder and closed her eyes. "We should go back to sleep," said Juanma, who had seen it.

Alvaro nodded. Mia got up and they went back down the stairwell into Mia and Zoe's room. At the door, ALvaro said to Juanma "Thanks for everything." Juanma nodded.
