Zoe talked to her parents for a moment and Mia was waiting for her. Juanma and Alvaro were already going upstairs.

"Juanma, I need your help again" said Alvaro.

"Sure, what's up?"

"I need an evening alone with Mia. Don't be offended, I like to be with all of you, but I just need an evening. And I thought I would have dinner with her on Wednesday at Ramiro's apartment. But I can 't  make the preparations  alone without her becoming suspicious. "

"That's a great idea, I think I'll steal it from you!" Juanma said laughing and then said "But of course I'll help you."

"I'll help you then too." said Alvaro.

They heard the girls on the stairs. Alvaro wrote to Ramiro asking if he could leave a key with the neighbor and explained why. Ramiro agreed.

Mia dropped onto the bed mattress. "Your parents are nice," she said to Zoe.

"But they are very insecure with so many youngsters in the house," Zoe said with a laugh.

"So plans for tomorrow?" Asked Alvaro.

"Didn't we want to go swimming?" Asked Juanma and Zoe rolled her eyes, but then laughed.

"As far as I'm concerned," she said, emphatically bored.

"We wanted to show Alvaro and Mia our swimming pool," said Juanma and nudged Zoe.

"So deal, swimming pool tomorrow," said Alvaro.

They lay down in the beds and Zoe turned on her TV. They looked for a film and they all noticed that the water and the air had made them tired.

The next morning Carmen finished breakfast and wanted to know what the kids were up to. She was pleased with the swimming pool idea and wished them a lot of fun.

Alvaro was enthusiastic about the swimming pool and was surprised that he hadn't seen it before, because Ramiro used to go swimming with him a lot.

The boys rushed to the slides and the girls secured deck chairs. "Sometimes I have the feeling that they are 5" said Zoe laughing and Mia winked at her.

"Everything was easier when I was 5," she said with a grin.

They went looking for the boys who had found a slide that measured the time and they tried to undercut each other. Mia heard the two of them laugh from afar and she was just enjoying to see Alvaro in particular.

The four of them went to a tire slide and always slide in pairs. After half an hour Zoe said "My skin is getting wrinkled, I'm slowly dissolving" she laughed and Juanma tickled her. "You're not really an Aquarian, are you?" Zoe shook her head.

Alvaro and Mia had to get a little secluded under the pretext of getting drinks.

"It's so good to see you laugh and happy," Mia said to Alvaro. "It's only because you're with me," he said with a smile. "You are always the light that illuminates the darkness."

He took her in his arms and kissed her. Shortly before Mia ran out of breath, he broke away from her. Both laughed.

"I have a surprise for you this week, but I won't tell you anything," said Alvaro with a slight chant in his voice.

"You're mean, you can't make me so curious"

"I can, you can see"

"You're too much with Juanma, you are already adopting his kind" laughed Mia.

He pulled her out of sight again from the other pool visitors and kissed her again. "As long as only I do that, everything is fine" Mia put her arms around him and hugged him. "I am so infinitely happy with you, Alvaro," she said very softly.

"And I love to make you happy because you are the best thing that ever happened to me."

"I hate to know this is our last school year together." Mia said.

"But there is also something good about it, I go to university, graduate quickly and the sooner we can build our lives without taking anything into account. Just you and me," he said again urgently to Mia. "That's the only thing I wish for. The two of us together and as best man and godparents of our children Zoe and Juanma.

Mia was literally speechless. It was exactly what she wanted too. But hearing it from Alvaro brought tears to her eyes. She took him in her arms. He knew there were tears of joy and he knew that he had spoken from her soul. He didn't need any more. He just had to know that he and Mia were trying to find a way together. Nobody knew beforehand what the future would look like. But that she had the same wish as he did, that was the decisive factor.

They lined up to get the drinks. When they came back to the chairs, Zoe had fallen asleep in Juanma's arms. "You were gone for a long time, was everything ok?" Asked Juanma quietly.

Mia and Alvaro nodded. "Shall we go back to the slides?" Asked Alvaro. Juanma carefully pulled his arm from under Zoe and stood up. "I'll stay with her," Mia said.

Zoe didn't sleep long and so after a while they could slide together with the boys again and romp in the water before it was time to leave.

When they got to the lockers, Alvaro had a missed call from Lupe. He made up his mind to call back as soon as he was done.
