Florencia was indeed sad when the four set off. She liked it when they were around, the house was very quiet during school days. But she also knew that there would be many more weekends when they were there.

It was a pretty warm day and the kids were looking forward to the lake. Alvaro drove as far as possible by car and walked the rest of the way. The sight was as they remembered it, crystal clear water that shone in the sun. The boys immediately changed to go into the water. Zoe hesitated and said to Mia "It's freezing again." But refreshing "shouted Alvaro who had already gone into the water.

"Come on," Mia said and pulled on Zoe's hand. When they were on the bank, Zoe shouted to the boys "I warn  you to  splash us wet".

"We never would," shouted Alvaro. They watched the girls walk slowly and carefully and water. Alvaro had climbed a rock.

"Look," he called and started to jump. He made a dive into the water and the girls gasped in shock. Juanma's interest was aroused.

"Look the one next to it is higher," he shouted and both climbed up. Alvaro looked and jumped. Juanma jumped after.

"They're really crazy," said Zoe, "what is if it is not deep enough?"

"But it is," shouted Juanma who had reappeared. Alvaro was already on the way back up. The girls lay down on the shallow bank and let the water wash over them.

After a while the boys came back to them. Zoe was freezing meanwhile and Juanma said "let's go to the towels in the sun."

They had a little picnic with them and they all ate something. "That nobody else  find their way here," said Mia. "It's so great here and so quiet."

"That is too far for most. And maybe not many know it either."

"So much the better for us" said Juanma and said to Alvaro "who is first on the rock"

"How can you be so active" said Zoe and lay down in the sun.

"I think Alvaro needs that right now. And Juanma is always up for something like that. They both have to clear their heads." said Mia.

"As long as I lie here in the warm, everything is fine with me." said Zoe and Mia laughed.

"Tell me ... do we have a problem when Lupe and Gaspar get together?" asked Mia.

"Well, I have a problem with it, I don't want Lupe around, no matter what. I can't tell you whether you have a problem, but I would say yes."

"Yes, but ... if they like each other. I mean .. that's similar to my situation. We can't refuse someone because they fell in love. And think of Alvaro."

"I'm also thinking of Juanma and I don't want Lupe with us"

"Zoe, there is nothing and there will be nothing. He would just have to endure Gaspar around us. Come on over this. Besides, we are not so much with Gaspar anyway that it can be a real problem." said Mia.

Zoe knew Mia was right. But no matter what Lupe was going through, she couldn't forget all the meanness and she couldn't forget the advances made to Juanma. She swallowed a comment.

They were silent for a moment and the boys were with them again.

Juanma hugged Zoe and Zoe screamed. "You're a chunk of ice," she said, laughing, and hugged him. "And with you I have the impression that you have a fever," said Juanma.

Alvaro had laid down a little more gently next to Mia, Mia was getting used to the coldness of his skin at her pace.

They hadn't kept an eye on the time and when Alvaro took his watch out of his backpack, he was a bit shocked that it was already afternoon. "It would be rude to be there for the first time and not show up until later in the evening"

Juanma nodded. They packed everything up and started. "Should we get some flowers or something?" Asked Juanma.

"Now stop," said Zoe, laughing. "My parents don't expect something like that"

"Your parents would definitely be happy," said Alvaro.

They stopped at a flower shop and got a small bouquet of flowers.

Juanma was a little nervous, and he didn't know Zoe's parents very well either.

Alvaro parked the car in front of the house. Zoe's parents seemed to have seen them and opened the door before they'd all got out.

She took Zoe in her arms and greeted the others with a short hug.

"The meal is almost ready," she said. "If you want, bring your things up there."

"Are we all sleeping in my room?" Zoe asked the others. They went up the stairs. Zoe had a large room and her parents had made a large guest mattress and puffed it up. It all looked very comfortable. "Of course we sleep here, as we sleep together at Juanma's" Mia said with a laugh.

They went down to eat and Zoe and Mia helped set the table. When everyone was seated, Zoe's mother said, "I think it would be nicer if you called us by our first names. My name is Carmen and my husband's name is Dario." Juanma, Alvaro and Mia nodded and Zoe said, "and my name is Zoe, that's Alvaro Mia and Juanma ". Everyone laughed.

The food was delicious and after dinner Zoe and Juanma offered to clean up the kitchen and Mia and Alvaro sat down with Zoes parents for a moment. Dario told Alvaro how nice he found Ramiro's offer so that Zoe would not have to change schools and told him that he had not regretted the decision to leave the company, as colleagues who had gone with the company had it very difficult to find suitable housing and the families to adapt to the new situation. Precisely because this was not necessary in his case, he was very grateful to Ramiro.
