When Alvaro and Mia had let Juanma and Zoe out of the car at the restaurant, Zoe stood undecided. "Are we going to  my house again?" She asked Juanma.

Juanma grinned and led Zoe into the restaurant. Alvaro hadn't promised too much, it was a cozy restaurant, there were candles on the tables and it had a romantic flair.

The waiter took them to a table and gave them the menu. "But I thought we ..." began Zoe and Juanma put his finger over her lips. "Double surprise," he said softly. "We use our evening too," he leaned over the table and kissed Zoe.

Zoe squeezed his hand. "Thank you," she said. "That's a really nice surprise".

They placed their order and Juanma said "after dinner we will go to my place. I have clarified with your mother that they will not wait for us". Zoe smiled at him.

The food came very quickly and was delicious. They sat there for a while, then Juanma paid and they stood in front of the restaurant. "What else do you want to do?" He asked Zoe while he put his arm around her. "May I choose anything I want," she asked with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Juanma had to laugh and looked at her. "I'll fulfill your every wish, if I can" he pulled her face to his and kissed her. "I would like to go to the cinema," said Zoe, "but it must be too late for all films."

"Let's see," said Juanma and took her hand again. They were lucky and there were a few late-night films on during the day. They picked one and Juanma bought some popcorn on the way to the cinema.

The film had been running for few wekks in cinema now  and it was a little later, so there were only a handful of other people in the cinema besides them. Juanma put his arm around Zoe and placed the popcorn between them. The movie started and Zoe laid her head on Juanma's shoulder. Juanma took a deep breath. He was comfortable with Zoe. They had been through a lot together and he was happy to have her by his side.

Zoe took his hand. She was delighted with Juanma's idea of ​​going out to dinner with her. She relaxed in his arms and enjoyed the movie. After the cinema, Juanma called a taxi and they drove to him. In front of the front door he patted his pockets and said "shit, I forgot the key at your place". Zoe looked at him. "But ..." "Just kidding, here it is." Zoe hit him lightly on the back and they both laughed.

It had gotten late and so Juanma took another drink with him and they went to his room. When they were both in bed watching a movie, Zoe grinned. "What is it, what are you thinking about" asked Juanma.

"You both have done it  well with the surprise." said Zoe. Juanma laughed and patted hisself on the shoulder. "That was real teamwork," he said and took Zoe in his arms. "But the evening with Mia will be good for Alvaro, there is so much going on with him and he always tries to cover it up." said Zoe and Juanma nodded.

He enjoyed having Zoe in his arms. "Did you feel comfortable at my home?" asked Zoe. Juanma nodded. "It was nice at your place, your parents don't know us all that well, but I think they were happy that we were there."

"My mother above all," said Zoe.

"Yes, so are mothers, my mother loves you all almost as if you were her children" said Juanma. "My father is always a bit reserved and sometimes the more strict," said Zoe.

"Aren't fathers of daughters always more indulgent? I think of Ramiro that way?" Both had to laugh. "Ramiro is a special case," said Zoe.

"How was your father like?" she asked and the moment she said it she could have slapped herself.

Juanma had never really spoken to her about his father before. Juanma said nothing for a moment and just as Zoe wanted to look at him and say that he should forget the question, he said, "My father was usually very calm. Zoe fell asleep quickly, he could tell by her steady breathing. He concentrated on it and closed his eyes too. He was happy that the surprise had succeeded and hoped that Mia and Alvaro also had a good evening. He had given Alvaro the tip to turn off his cell phone and hoped he had followed his advice.
