Alvaro and Mia hugged each other. The few separate days would be inevitable, but at least the good time wasn't over so abruptly.

While Mia was helping Ramiro prepare breakfast, Alvaro went to the beach on the pretext of jogging. Before leaving the house, he had been back in the room and fetched a piece of paper and a pen.

When he got to the beach, he sat down in the sand and considered. He intended to write a few lovely lines to Mia and put the bracelet inside the letter.

He looked out over the sea. The memory of how she found the shell came to mind. He hadn't written much when he was roused from his thoughts because Juanma put his hand on his shoulder. "Everything ok, captain? I should check on you, breakfast is ready"

Alvaro nodded. "Ramiro was able to sort everything out with Mercedes?" asked Juanma.

"It's a great idea and I'm sure she'll be really happy." Said Juanma "And we should look forward to the weekend at my home, captain," said Juanma.

"The fact that we're separated from each other is bad enough, but on top of that I'm expecting a bad-tempered mother and who knows what is wrong with Lupe. I think I'll need another two weeks here  after that," said Alvaro and tried to laugh.

Juanma saw his friend that he was dejected. He put his hand on Alvaro's shoulder and said, "If it gets too bad, you call me. You will be allowed to meet with me and what we will do then we'll see "

Alvaro looked up. "That's actually the idea, we can go to Mia together or pick her up, Ramiro won't mind."

"Thank you," said Alvaro and gave Juanma a quick squeeze.

"That's what friends are for," said Juanma.

"And we are really friends," said Alvaro. He was feeling a little better. Juanma had an idea that had crossed his mind before  for a moment. But he hadn't wanted to incite anyone to lie.

"Come on, breakfast is ready," said Juanma, "otherwise they'll all look for us"

They pulled each other up out of the sand and headed for the house. The table was set a little nicer than normal and Alvaro looked around briefly as he sat down.
