"Dare "

"Get into the water up to your knees"

"Now it's pitch black, who knows what is swimming there." Zoe said indignantly.

"Come on, there's nothing we'll go together," said Juanma. "Only up to the knees."

Zoe slowly walked towards the water. Juanma held her hand. She stood up to her ankles and suddenly shouted "there is something on my foot"

Juanma pulled her on, laughing, "that's just the sand." When she was in up to her knees, Juanma pulled her a little further and Alvaro was suddenly there and Juanma took Zoe under her arms and Alvaro took her feet and they threw Zoe into the deeper water. Zoe reappeared with a snort. Juanma immediately pulled her up and hugged her. At first she was angry, but everyone laughed and she just had to laugh too. "I'll never take dare  again," she said as she walked up to the beach soaking wet.

The boys came back too. Mia was out to get towels. When Zoe was wrapped in a towel in Juanma's arms, the world was all right again.

"Ramiro and Isabel are already in bed, we should be a little quieter." said Mia.

"So they are already in bed," said Alvaro with a grin.

"I thought about something. We cooked a meal at Ramiro's, after our vacation. What do you think if we repeat this. For both of them. But we'll let them eat alone. We'll finish everything and we four do  Something different in the evening. " said Juanma.

"That's a nice idea and so we thank them at the same time," said Zoe.

"Well, Monday we're on the ship, Wednesday diving. How about Thursday, because Friday would be our last evening here." said Alvaro.

"Diving Wednesday?" asked Mia.

"Oh yes, we wanted to discuss that. Dani and Toni wanted to go diving with us on Wednesday. And if you want you can lie down in the sun  on the boat." said Juanma

Mia and Zoe exchanged a look. Zoe nodded and Mia said "Ok, that could be cool."

"And we could bring everything for food on Wednesday, we just have to get them out of the house on Thursday." added Alvaro.

"Okay, we can do that." Mia said, clapping her hands with joy. For a while they let the warmth and crackle of the fire sink in. Everyone was somehow following their thoughts.

"Do you now know all diving equipment of modern times and history" Zoe then asked the boys.

"almost" said Alvaro after a quick look at Juanma.

"I would never have thought that Dani was once a rescue diver." said Mia.

"Yes he exudes an incredible calm, that fits," said Juanma.

Zoe yawned. "I think I'm going to sleep slowly." Mia nodded.

"Ok," said Alvaro, I'll put out the fire and then I'll come up too. "

" I'll help you, "said Juanma.

When the girls were gone, Juanma asked "Did you mind when Mia said it was the first kiss with Gaspar?"

"No, not really. First of all, we've all tried something in the past and Mia was very close friends with Gaspar. It was clear to me that something had happened."

"But I don't think anything  real had happened"

"No, I didn't mean that either, but it is obvious that there was something".

Juanma nodded. " The evening was funny"

"yes that was it" said Alvaro. The boys were tired too. Alvaro poured water and sand over the fire. They waited a moment to be sure that everything was over and then went inside.

Mia was still awake when Alvaro came into the room. "Everything worked out?" she asked. Alvaro nodded.

He looked briefly at his cell phone and then turned to Mia. "I need that now," he said and snuggled up to her.

"Can you speak English so well because of the girl from England?" Asked Mia.

Alvaro had to laugh: "Well maybe, she only wrote and spoke in English. A little something stuck."

"Why didn't you have any more contact?"

"The usual, we were  far apart, there was no plan to see each other again. I'm sure she met someone at home and that was just a vacation love."

Mia snuggled up to Alvaro again. It had been a fine evening. She enjoyed the intense being with him and Zoe and Juanma.

She was looking forward to the next few days that lay ahead of her.

Alvaro lay awake a little longer. A lot went through his head. The conversation with Dani and he thought it was funny that neither Lupe nor his mother had contacted him. He had been able to suppress the family situation all day.

After a while he got up to have a drink in the kitchen downstairs. He was a little confused that the light was on and saw Isabel standing in the kitchen.

She turned when he came down the stairs. "Hello Alvaro, is everything ok?" Alvaro nodded. "I just wanted a drink" Isabel took a glass from the cupboard and poured him water.

"Is Mia sleeping?"

"She fell asleep very quickly," said Alvaro and looked at the window. "You love her very much, don't you?" said Isabel.
