Then he said a little more calmly, "You threaten Ramiro with taking us away from him. But you don't ask us how we are doing. You want to punish him because that's the only point you can hit him with. But you hit not just him, but us too. " he sat down again.

Mercedes said nothing for a moment. Then she said: "First he  fells in love  with this dancingwoman named Mariana who has a child from him and now with her best friend. I didn't deserve that. I always stood by him ..."

Alvaro interrupted her: "This  are Topics that you have to clarify with Ramiro. I just want you to keep us out of it. We, Lupe, Mia and I don't want to suffer just because you made mistakes "

"The first mistake is Mia herself and the second mistake is that you bring her into this family."

Alvaro took a breath to say something when Lupe stood between the two. "It doesn't get anywhere now. Alvaro, we can't fight adult struggles. And mom, you have to accept that we're in between with everything you do."

"So now you both stand against me?" said Mercedes. With that she turned and went back up the stairs.

Lupe and Alvaro looked at each other. Lupe sat back on the couch and took the remote control. "Will you come and watch the film again?" Said Lupe.

"Can you just get back to business now?" asked Alvaro.

" What do you want to do?" asked Lupe. "You didn't come here to argue, did you?"

Ramiro had invited Isabel and Mia to dinner. It was a beautiful evening and Mia proudly wore the bracelet that Alvaro had given her.

Isabel planned to stay through Thursday. Then when she could come back would be decided. Later Ramiro suggested another film. Mia was pretty tired and almost fell asleep on the couch. Alvaro had also wished "good night" quite early.

Gaspar had written to Lupe that he would like to see her on Monday. He had suggested they meet at an ice cream parlor and Lupe enthusiastically accepted.

She discussed with Alvaro that he would drive her there, then he wanted to stop by Ramiro's for a moment to see Mia.

Mercedes was arguing with Lupe because she wanted to see Gaspar. "He cost us the victory in the competition, did you forget that?"

"No, I haven't, but he's only a student in a school like me. He wasn't alone in this."

"I don't know what you want with  him." Mercedes shouted

Alvaro went to his room. The argument was getting on his nerves. He lay down on his bed with headphones on and fell asleep.

He woke up to a knock on his door. Lupe came in. "Are you ready?" She asked and Alvaro nodded.

He took her to town near the ice cream parlor and drove from there to see Ramiro. Ramiro opened the door and first took Alvaro in his arms.

Mia ran out of the living room and fell on his neck. "I wanted to write to you about the letter and the bracelet, but you didn't answer and I didn't want that...." "..Mia stop," Alvaro said, laughing, "Everything is fine, I know"

It was infinitely good for him to take Mia in his arms . "Thank you, Alvaro that was such a sweet idea with the letter and the bracelett, I firmly believed you lost the shell and didn't want to tell me"

Alvaro laughed. "Let him come in first," said Ramiro.

"I can only stay a short time, I brought Lupe into town and wanted to see Mia for a moment," he said to Ramiro.

"How is it at home" asked Ramiro.

"Mama is looking for a fight over everything. Even with Lupe."

Ramiro nodded. "Unfortunately that's her way. I have made an appointment with her tomorrow, but I think it would be better if I talk to her alone"

Alvaro nodded. He also didn't feel like being present during this conversation.

"I'll give you a moment," said Ramiro and went to Isabel, who had already said hello from the kitchen.

Alvaro put his forehead on Mia's. "God how much  have I missed you," he said. Mia noticed that he relaxed in her arms. "I missed you very much too," she said. "How it goes with Lupe"

"Right now ok. You know the saying 'beaten dogs get together'. But I think she's also suffering a lot from the situation right now, but she's handling it differently than me."

Mia nodded. "I hope the next few days will pass quickly," she said to Alvaro.

"I have to go back, otherwise mom will be wondering where I'm staying."

"Ok, it's a shame," said Mia. "Juanma is coming tomorrow,  he wrote to me."

"Good to know," said Alvaro and winked with a laugh. "I'm the one who needs reinforcements," he said.

"I'll send him over to you," Mia said with a grin.

"Ok, I'm going now. We'll write later, ok? I love you"

"I love you too," Mia said and looked a little sadly after Alvaro when he drove off again.
