"Think of me as an intruder." Gon continued. "So please, let me borrow the key."

"Then we can go in through the intruder's door!" I smiled. "Great idea Gon!"

"Gon, Y/n!" Kurapika frowned.

"Hey, uh..." Leorio tried to butt in nervously.

"Lend it to us or don't, but we're getting in! Y/n and I will climb the wall if we have to." Gon grunted.

"Don't be stupid, you two! Didn't you see that terrifying monster?" Leorio shouted.

"Oh what, first we're weak and now we're stupid?" I snarled.

"He never said you were weak, he just wanted you safe." Kurapika clenched his eyes shut.

"Shut up, I can protect myself, blondie." I scoffed.

"Y/n, you're being kind of a jerk right now. Let's just calm down, okay? I know this is hard for you, but we're figuring something out, I promise." Quinn smiled, gently gripping my shoulders.

"Okay. I'm sorry, I'll try to stop being such a bully." I frowned. "I'm sorry for telling you to shut up." I glanced at Kurapika. "And I'm sorry for putting words in your mouth." I turned to Leorio. "Please forgive me."

"It's all right, really. Just don't do it again, okay?" Kurapika grinned.

"Hey, I get it. This must be hard for you kid, I completely understand what you're going through right now. The fear of losing someone can drive you crazy, but just know that we're here for you." Leorio pulled me into a small side hug which felt safe and comforting.

"Thanks, Leorio" I sniffed. I walked over to the left side of the gate, a little bit away from the others.

"Hey, are you cold? It's pretty chilly tonight." Quinn asked, walking over to my spot.

"Well, yeah a little bit. Surprisingly enough, I don't have a jacket in here though, so I'm kinda out of luck!" I chuckled, patting my bag that I had lazily slung over my shoulder.

"Wanna borrow my sweater?" They offered.

"Nah, I don't wanna take anything from you. Like you said, it's a cold night." I slummed down onto the ground.

"It'll be okay. I've kinda gotten used to the cold! Sometimes when my dad was away, my older sister would kick me outside during the snow so I'm practically immune to feeling freezing." They winked.

"Where was your mom?" I asked.

"Ah, I don't know. Don't think she cared in all honesty." They sighed, sitting down next to me. "She was usually sick, in fact, I even had to get a job at one point just to pay for medicine! It sucked, but it worked out in the end."

"Why couldn't your sister do it?"

"She just didn't want to. She always said that I was a nuisance and that I should at least try and be useful. Well, now I'm the one leaving that stupid, stuffy Island and following dad's footsteps, whiles she's stuck being nothing more than a gas station attendant." They chuckled. "Pretty funny how that works, huh? What goes around, comes around. But, here, take this." They took off their sweater and handed it to me. I silently put it on, feeling how fuzzy the sleeves were.

"I told you I don't like this!" Gon shouted, bringing my attention back to the other three. "Why test your friends? It's crazy! There's no way I'm ever going through that door."

"You're right." The janitor said. "But if you think you can force your way in, think again. It's absolutely impossible! Mike would definitely kill you."

"I have to agree with you. We have the time, so let's find a way to use the first door." Kurapika reasoned.

"But what if we don't have time?" I chimed in, staring at the ants on the ground once again. "Killua could be getting tortured as we sit here trying to figure this out. Sure, it's worth it, but I'd rather be eaten than let Killua go on like that." I sighed. "My best friend could be in pain, so there's no way I can wait!" Everyone stayed silent, but Gon let out his hand to take the key.

"No use. He won't change his mind when he's like this. And They'll do anything to get to Killua faster." Leorio whispered.

"Yes, you're right." Kurapika frowned.

"We can hear you, ya know." Quinn whispered, sneaking up on the two.

"Sorry to say this, but I can't let you have the key. I won't feed young master Killua's friends to Mike! I can't do it, guess I don't have it in me." The janitor sighed.

"Well, how do we know Mike will eat us? I've got an idea." Quinn smirked.

"Hit me with it, little gremlin!" I chuckled.

"Well, y'know how you spent so much time with Killua? Even going as far as sleeping on him once?" They giggled.

"Ah, yeah." I smiled, feeling my face get hot from embarrassment.

"Well, maybe his scent rubbed off on you or something! I'm honestly not too sure how it works, but maybe if it did, Mike could recognize your scent and let you in." Quinn smiled, holding up a finger.

"But, from what it sounds like, Mike relies on sight more than scent. So if his scent hypothetically rubbed off on them, I doubt it would work." Kurapika sighed.

"Right." I sighed.

"Would you wait here for a minute, please?" The old man asked, just before walking off. We stood outside the security hut as he began to get on the phone and call someone. "Hello? This is Zebro. Sorry to call, it's just that five of master Killua's are here and they would very much like to see him." He explained before responding to what seemed like orders. "Yes. Yes, I'm sorry. O-Of course! Yes, I understand. Yes, Yes! I'm so very sorry to disturb you." Before hanging up the phone. "Yeah, I figured I'd get yelled at."

We all walked inside. "You called up to the house for us?" Gon asked.

"No. I was speaking with the Zoldyck family's butler."
