The next morning you wake up with a hangover and go down to the kitchen for coffee. You see Bucky snd your heart flutter when he smiles at you. His smile quickly fades and is filled with concern.

"Hey, you okay? You don't look so good." You look down at your sweatpants and sports bra, your hair in a messy bun and you still had sleepy in your eyes. You just needed aspirin and coffee.

"Wow. Thanks." You say dryly. He freezes up and stutters. You hadn't meant to be rude, it was the hangover. It just slipped out. "No no. That's not what I mean. I mean you look like you have a hangover."

You laugh at his stuttering and your hand instinctively lands on his arm. "I'm just kidding, I know I look awful. And I do have a hangover."

He shakes his head, his mouth in a straight line. "You don't look awful. You actually look beautiful. And I have something that may help your hangover."

Your heart drops into your stomach when he calls you beautiful. You decide to ignore the compliment and try to make a playful joke, perhaps a nickname. "Say less metal man, What is it?"

Terrible. Terrible nick name. You'd need to come up with another. "Metal man? I don't know if I like that. But I'll help you anyway."

The way he smiles, you feel just as you did with Steve. Your hand is still on his arm and you realize, you pull it off. "Thank you Sergeant Barnes."

The affect of you calling him Sergeant Barnes was the same as Steve's, he was flustered. "Y-you're welcome. Uhm give me five minutes."

Five minutes later he hands you an awful looking contraption and you pray that it doesn't taste as bad as it looks. But you have to be polite, he may be your soulmate. And he was being kind. "Coffee?"

"No, it's a mixture of coffee and a bunch of nasty thing to help with your hangover." His joking tone gives you a sense of familiarity. You feel home. "Well that sounds awfully appealing. Thank you."

"Of course." He sits with you on the couch while you drink it and try not to gag. He's clearly trying to ask something. Perhaps he's asking if you've seen color.

"Uhm, so why did you get drunk last night? Like for fun or...? It's just everyone is saying you don't normally drink and well, is something wrong?" Nope. He isbn asking if you've seen color.

"Gosh you and the Captain are awfully concerned about my drinking." His face twists to an unfamiliar look. Was it jealousy? "He is? Hmm, I didn't know. I mean, I'm just being, I don't know. Sorry."

"No, it's okay. It's sweet. But like I told him, it was just an overwhelming day yesterday and I just needed to get out of my head."

"Why was it overwhelming?" Him and Steve sure were concerned about you for whatever reason. They were making it really hard to know which one was your soulmate.

You wanted to know, but you weren't ready to be with whoever it was. At least you didn't think so in the moment. "You sure do ask a lot of questions. It's nothing, it's stupid."

"Okay, well I have training to do. I'll leave you to drink your...Coffee thing I made." He smiles warmly and waits for you to respond before moving. "Thank you Sergeant Barnes."

"Bucky." He corrects. "And you're welcome." He kisses your temple and gets off the couch heading to the training room.
