Four years later
It had been four years since you had the triplets. They were four, the twins were 6, Peter was now twenty and going to MIT, he still came home for visits as often as he could though. He called you Steve and Bucky everyday and FaceTimed with you so he could see all the kids and talk to them. They made it a habit to fight over who got to talk to him first.
You Steve and Bucky were so in love with each other and your family. Every day one of the kids would do something that amazed you and left you in awe. You thanked god everyday for everything you had and you were so grateful.
You still visited the team once a month, you and Nat were on speaking terms but didn't really talk unless you were physically with each other like at the compound. There was no bad blood but you still knew there was no way to get back to where you were.
Anthony, Derek and Sarah were all over the place constantly, they were all so sweet and they were really good kids. You expected terror and chaos with six kids but your household was fairly calm unless one of them was having an off day, which was rare. And if anyone was having an off day it was usually Sarah because she was the only girl and she knew and hated it.
Anthony and Derek were sitting in the floor together playing with Bucky. They let their imaginations run wild and Bucky encouraged them and it was adorable. The way he smiled at the kids, how just by seeing him look at them you knew how much he loved his family.
Just like Steve. He had always wanted a family so had Bucky and they both cherished it. And you cherished them. "Daddy, look at this." Anthony said holding up a toy. "What is it buddy?" He asks with a smile on his face. "It's a monster!" Derek yells. "Oh no! A monster!?" Bucky explains. "Yea! He's gonna get you!" Anthony says. "Not if I get you first." Bucky says.
He takes the toy and pretends to attack the boys with the fake monster. They laugh and pretend to be afraid. Both boys had steel blue eyes and brown hair. The second they were born, and Sarah, you knew they were Buckys. Sarah had brown hair and steel blue eyes as well. None of you addressed the fact that you knew the biological father, but none of you necessarily cared either, they were all your kids. Just like the twins.
You were sitting on the couch with Steve, Sarah in your lap, you were all watching Bucky okay with the boys, the twins were at school for the day. Sarah looked at you smiling. "Hey mommy?" She asks. "What is it princess?" You ask her.
And she was your little princess. She wasn't spoiled, you refused to let her be a spoiled brat. You spoiled her to an extent but you never let it get out of hand. And you made it known that you loved all of your kids the same. There was no favorite. No matter how many times they would ask.
"Are you gonna have another baby? I want a sister." She says. This wasn't an out of the blue thing. She was always asking for a baby sister and you would always put off the discussion. Until now. "Well actually babygirl, both of your daddy's and I talked about it and we are gonna have another baby."
*flashback to the night before*
"I think it's time." You whisper. You had all been laying in bed after putting the kids to sleep and you were ready to fall asleep. But you had something on your mind first. "Time for...?" Steve asks.
"I think the twins and the triplets are at a comfortable place, we have a good routine going, that's what we were waiting for..." you start. "Oh you mean like it's time? Like...?" Bucky asks, knowing what you're talking about but also not wanting to get his hopes up. "It's time we bring our baby back."
