In The Moment

Steve and Bucky go upstairs and Peter, you and the twins are all in the kitchen. Your eyes immediately go over to Steve and Bucky coming up from downstairs. Bucky had come up first with Steve close behind him, Buckys hand intertwined with Steve's.

You thought it was adorable how both of them being dominant males, still did sweet things with each other like holding hands or giving each other sweet forehead kisses or kisses on the cheek. And when you saw them come upstairs holding hands, you were ecstatic. It looked like they had made up and you could all start to move forward together.

You were still worried what this right would mean for bringing back the baby though, since you all knew the paternity. But you'd rather have the family you have now, happy, than bring back the child you had already mourned and accepted was gone.

"Hi Steve." Peter says. He hadn't seen Steve since the fight and him and Peter were close. Just like him and Bucky are. "Hey bud. What're you up to?" Steve asks. "Y/n and I are gonna feed the twins, do you wanna take my place?" Peter asks.

He knows Steve hadn't seen the babies in over a day too. "Yea I'll take the munchkins off your hands." He says. "Bucky?" You ask. He looks over at you and smiles. "Hey doll." He says. He comes over and kisses your cheek and bends down, kissing baby Steve who you were holding. Steve was now holding baby James.

"Uhm...so Nat's gonna come over tomorrow night, but I was thinking...uhm maybe Peter could stay in our room with the kids tonight and we could have some time, just the three of us?" You ask them.

You had already talked to Peter about it and he said yes. It wasn't just about sex. It was about the three of you needing to feel contracted as one again. It had been a while since you had been intimate, let alone felt like you were all one with each other. You needed to rekindle your connection and tonight was the perfect opportunity before Nat came over and after everything that's happened the past few days.

"I think that's a great idea doll." Bucky says. "Me too. We could definitely use some alone time. And tomorrow when Nat's here Bucky and I can have time together with the boys." Steve says. "That is exactly what I was thinking." Bucky says smiling at him.

You loved how easy it was for them to fall back into routine with each other, even after a big fight like that. You knew you'd have to ask them both later what they talked about downstairs, you wouldn't actually even ask them, they would just tell you, but right now you didn't want to think about it. You just wanted to be in the moment with them.
