"No." You say. You know you can't stop it. You know it's inevitable but you have to try. You can't just sit here and let them both leave you because last time Bucky almost died. You couldn't lose them.
They couldn't both go. You needed them. You needed both of them but if you couldn't have both you at least needed one. But you knew there was no fighting this.
"She's right." Bucky says. You're surprised he agreed when you said no because you know he wants to help but you also know he doesn't want you without both him and Steve.
"Nat this happened before. That's the whole reason they stopped going on missions. You can't take them both from me. Not again. Last time..."
You can't bring yourself to finish the sentence. Because you thought about how it could happen all over again. Or worse. You could lose them both.
"Y/n I am so sorry. But this is bigger than us. This effects the entire world. We need all the help we can get. We need them." She says and you can tell she's crying.
"Please don't do this Natasha. I can't do this again." You start to cry again and Steve and Bucky hold you. What else can they do. Say no? Risk letting half the world die? "Baby we'll come back just like we did last time." Steve says as he rubs your back.
"You don't know that." You sob and you can head Nat still crying on the other end of the phone. "Y/n I am so sorry. But we need them. There's nothing else I can do."
Bucky starts to tear up as well. He's running his hands through your hair and holding you against him and kissing the top of your head repeatedly and trying to say things to sooth you. But it doesn't work. "Shh doll. It's okay. We're gonna be okay."
"We need you both first thing in the morning." Natasha says. "Ok." Steve says and is about to hang up. "Y/n i love you." She says.
You don't answer her back. You can't talk because how hard you're crying. Not only are you upset because the thought of both of them having to go again, but pregnancy hormones too.
You notice that the closer you get to your due date, the more heightened your emotions are. "She loves you too Nat. She just can't talk, shes too upset." Steve says and Natasha says and okay and s goodbye and they hang up.
