A little while later Natasha leaves you by yourself at the bar. Her mistake. You drink until you can barely walk and attempt to walk upstairs. Your mistake.
You start walking up to your room and accidentally run into something rock hard. You look up and see Steve. His hand grips your hip trying to steady you. Your hand lands on his chest on he smiles down at you warmly.
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry Captain Rogers. Are you alright?" He chuckles and his hand drops from your hip. Your body screams at the loss of touch. It had felt so right.
"I'm fine. A little bump won't hurt me. Are you alright?" He backs up. Your hand had still been on his chest and fell to your side when he slowly back himself up.
"I-I'm fine I'm drunk. I don't usually drink so I-im not good at it. Tolerance is low. I'm so sorry." He smiles, and god his eyes. His gorgeous baby blue eyes.
"It's alright. Really you don't need to apologize. If you don't normally drink. Why are you?" You look at the empty glasses on the bar and at your feet. Slightly disappointed in yourself.
"I-it's- I don't want to talk about it. It's just been an overwhelming day." He nods, not wanting to push you but wanting you to know he's there if you need it.
"Well ig you need to vent, i'm an excellent listener." You shake your head still looking at your feet. "Oh no, you don't need to do that Captain. But thank you. I should probably be heading to bed now though, before I run into anyone else."
He chuckles and your eyes meet his once again. "Please y/n it's Steve. And I know I don't have to offer my excellent listening skills, but I am more than happy to." Suddenly you feel sober.
His pretense cleanses you. Makes you feel like theres no-one else In the world and all the alcohol in your system has just vanished. "Thank you Cait-Steve." He smiles at your attempt to say his name. It rolls of like you were meant to say it.
But he clearly gets flustered when you call him Captain, and that's way more fun. So you decide to stick with Captain or Captain Rogers for now. "Anyway, I'm off to bed."
"Would you let me walk you upstairs? I don't want you falling down them." You take the opportunity. Not wanting your time with him to end. "I suppose that's alright. Thank you."
You walk up the stairs with him snd his hand hovers over your lower back the whole time, making sure you don't fall. You both stop in front of your door and stand there for a moment before he speaks up.
"Are you sure you dint want to talk about what's bothering you? I've learned it helps to talk about it." He doesn't want to push you, but little do you know, he has his own reasons for asking.
"No I really don't want to talk about it." He nods and looks down. You both take a breath before his eyes meet yours once again. "Okay well if you change your mind, i'm right across the hall."
You look across the hall and see a door directly across form yours with a small shield emblem in sterling silver on it. Your room door has a snow flake. And the one next to Steves, was a metal arm with a star on it. It had to be Bucky.
"Okay thank you...but I won't." He has a light hearted laugh once again and smiles. His smile fades and he nods. "Goodnight y/n." He waits a moment and turns around heading to his room.
When he gets to the door, he turns back around and looks at you, you quickly go into your room ad shut the door falling against it and to the floor. It had to be him.
