The moment he say you everything had fell into place. He could see the dirty blonde hair with natural light blonde highlights from the sun, the emerald green of your eyes and the light pink plump of your lips. He could finally see color. You were his soulmate.

Bucky snaps out of his daze by Steve's voice. They had been outside training and thy were now standing in the shade hydrating. "Buck are you even listening to me?" He lies. "Yes."
He was lying. He had been thinking about you. And Steve knew. "You're thinking about her aren't you?" He was. And he couldn't stop. And he couldn't lie anymore because Steve knew. "Yea. I am."
And Steve couldn't stop thing about you either. "She's beautiful isn't she?" Both men knew that was an understatement. "She really is."
They sit not saying anything for several moments until Steve breaks the silence. "You saw color didn't you Buck?" He looked his best friend in the eyes for the first time since this conversation started.
"Yea I did see color." Which Steve already knew. "Why did you tell Sam you didn't?" Steve had no trouble exposing the fact that Sam had come to him and told him about their conversation. He knew Bucky really wouldn't be mad at Sam about it. "Because I know you can see color now too."

The moment Steve saw you his entire world lit up. He couldn't help but smile as his eyes raked over your every feature, getting to know them, drinking them in. He could see how nervous you were when you saw him and Bucky and he knew, you saw color too. He knew you were it.
"Hi. You must be y/n. Stark told us we had a new recruit. It's nice to meet you ma'am." He see's you blush and his smile can't help but grown. The pink of your cheeks was warm and he just wanted to reach out and caress your cheek. But of course, he didn't.
"Please. I feel so old when you call me ma'am. Nothing compared to you though Captain Rogers. Even though you don't look a day over thirty." He chuckles and it sends butterflies through your stomach.
"You can call me Steve. And that's very kind of you. I see you've done your research." You smile and nod. "I had to know who I would be working with. I don't work with just anybody Captain."

"How did you know?" Steve snaps himself out of his own recall of meeting you. "Because I know you Steve. You're my best friend."
Sentiment taking over, Steve takes the moment to tell his best friend that no matter what, they're always going to be best friends. "And you're mine. Til the end of the line. You know that."
Bucky smiles at the saying. Something they had always said to one another, something they said to remind one another they would always be there for one another. "Til the end of the line."
