Powers

A few weeks later you're in the kitchen with the team. Steve and Bucky have been walking around eggshells with you. They don't know how to help or what you need but they're trying their best.

Not only are you trying to recover from the assault, you're grieving the loss of your powers as well. It was hard trying the comprehend that something you've had your entire life, even if you didn't necessarily want them, was gone.

"Hey Elsa-I mean. Fuck. Y/n, can you come to Bruce's lab with him and I?" Tony has been trying to be sensitive to your situation too. He is an arrogant asshole but he isn't to you anymore.

It's probably just pity but it helps that he's nicer. He keeps slipping and accidentally calling you Elsa, which stings because you aren't anymore. "Yea. Okay." You mumble as you start to follow them to the lan.

"Hey baby, come here real quick." Steve says before you have the chance to leave the room. You walk back over or where him and Bucky are sitting and you stand between Steve's legs.

He holds your hands and looks into your eyes but your focus is on his lap. You'd rather look anywhere but his eyes because you know if you did you'd start crying.

Being called Elsa really pulled at your heart string because it reminds you of everything you've had taken away from you. "Hmm?"

"Can you look at me please sweetheart?" You slowly move your eyes to his and he has a sad smile on his face. "I love you." When he says it all your problems wash away.

You feel safe again. You feel loved. You're not thinking about losing your powers, you're thinking about how lucky you are to have two men who love you like this. Who help you as much as they do.

"I love you." You whisper as you hug him. Bucky gets in on the action and hugs you too. "I love you doll. I know you're still hurting but you'll make it through, we'll help you."

"I love you too Bucky. I better go before Tony beats me up." Both of them chuckle as you exit the room, walking into Bruce's lab with Bruce and Tony.

"What's up?" You ask as if you weren't about to have a mental breakdown a few moments ago. "Bruce and I have been going over everything found in the Jokers mansion" Tony says.

"We found the lab and we've been doing research on the equipment that he had in there." The one thing you were really hoping they wouldn't talk about.

"Okay?" Where was this going. You didn't feel like standing here talking about him after everything. At this point you've had so many blows today reminding you of him you just wanted to crawl back into bed.

"We figured out how he took your powers. And his equipment isn't as high tech as mine, obviously. So it can be easily reversed." Did he just say reversed? "What do you mean?"

"Y/n, we can get your powers back."
