The second you meet his eyes you know it's not Bucky. It's The Winter Soldier. Steve quickly grabs him from behind and tries to restrain him. Bucky-The Winter Soldier, not Bucky. This wasn't Bucky...
He tries to escape Steves grip but Tony Wanda and Clint step in to help. Everything is happening so fast. They hold him and he's screaming. Trying to get to you. Like he wants to hurt you.
But you're not afraid of him. They put him in a glass box and restrain him. Something he could never get out of no matter how hard he tried. You and Steve argued against it but it wasn't practical.
He was dangerous. He wasn't himself. Everyone was screaming and shouting. You were trying to reach the Bucky you knew, so was Steve, everyone else was yelling at the two of you to stay back.
"Bucky. Buck I know you're in there. Try to fight it for me. You need to try and fight it." You try to talk to him as they had put him in the cell. Now you stand in front of it with Steve.
You're holding each others hand and you each have your free hand pressed to the glass. At some point you had started crying. Tears run down your cheeks freely but you don't sound like you're crying.
You try to talk to Bucky. He stares blankly between you and Steve. "Buck...babe, we're gonna find a way to help you. I promise, okay? Just hang in there for me. For us."
You look at Steve when Bucky says nothing. "Steve what do we do?" You sob and fall into his arms. "How do we get him back? I thought they fixed this in Wakanda. How is he like this again?"
You cry into his chest as you both hold each other tightly. "We'll figure it out sweetheart. We'll help him, I promise. I want him back as much as you. I can't believe Loki did this hun. I'm so sorry. I can't believe nobody got him to stop saying the trigger words."
"I know. It's like everyone was just standing there. Nat tried but she didn't try hard enough. I-I'm not blaming them I'm just upset. Someone should have saved him. I tired. I tried to help him. I thought trying to distract him would stop it but-"
Steve backs out of the hug and still holds you close, your face sternly placed in his hands. "Do not blame yourself. None of us helped him the way we should have. We didn't know how. We'll help him now though. We'll get him back."
"I don't want to leave him here. He doesn't deserve to be locked up. I know what he's capable of like this but it's not his fault." You whimper and Steve pulls you back into his embrace.
"I know. I know how you feel better than anyone. Last time this happened he got snapped out of it by hitting his head really hard, we obviously wanna try to find a way to avoid that."
You nod and wipe yours tears. "Okay." You try to stifle a yawn but it doesn't work. "You need to get some sleep. You're still exhausted and sleeping last night wasn't enough after everything. You need some sleep."
"I don't think I'll be able to sleep." You mumble and look over to the soldier in the cell. "Will you try for me? I promise I will have the rest of the team on it while you try and get some rest."
"Okay. But I'm not sleeping anymore after this until we figure out how to get him out of this. He's trapped in his own mind Steve. He's probably so scared. We need to help him."
