The next few days after Tony introduces you to the avengers you spend training and don't really talk to anyone until Natasha invites you to drinks. You go to the bar in the compound-one of Tonys favorite places- which also happens to be the room where he hosts his parties.
"Hey Natasha, thank you for inviting me out. It's kind of weird lately not knowing anyone." You sit at the barstool while Natasha is behind the bar making herself a drink. "Of course! Now, what can I get you to drink?"
"Uhm...I don't know. I rarely drink. Surprise me I guess." She mixes a bunch of different drinks and comes out with a kiss martini champaign cocktail. You smile and look down at the big glass she's just slid to you. "Thank you, it looks great."
She smiles and takes a sip of her cocktail before starting conversation. "I don't mean to pry...but you said you can't see color correct? Have you never seen color? Like ever?" You look down at your glass and fiddle with it before taking a big sip.
"Uh-no I have not. And it's alright to ask. How about you? Im guessing you've seen color?" She looks down at the ring on her finger she hadn't noticed before. "Yes I have. My fiancé Bruce. We've been together two years and it wasn't until our first kiss I saw colors."
"Have you known anyone who saw colors and they just faded? I havn't, but I heard it happens." Natasha gets a knowing, smug look on her face and it baffles you.
"Yea. My friend Steve was in love in with a women in the forties, but he was frozen in ice. When he came back it was all grey again. The women was still alive, she died recently, but even when he went to visit her as an old women, no color."
She smiles and looks at you with a hint of intention. Like her comment is specifically directed towards you. "I guess he's destined to be with someone else in his new lifetime. You'll meet him and Barnes soon. When they get back from their mission."
"I have read their files. They both have complicated pasts." Natasha lets out a comical laugh. "That is for sure putting it mildly." You look back down at your glass and recall everything you read about the two men. "I suppose you're right. They've been through a lot."
"We all have." You both take another long drink. "You are not wrong there."
"So why does Tony call you Elsa. You don't look like her. You have dirty blonde hair and green eyes." You take another drink. You needed it.
"Because my powers consist of ice. The movie 'Frozen', that was made about me. I'm literally Elsa." She laughs slightly at your seriousness. "So you're like a princess?"
"No, they fudged that part. And there were no troll of Prince Hans or Olaf. They took my powers, what happened to my parents, my relationship with my sister, who I am, and turned it into a fairytale."
"Well I've seen that movie, and i'm sorry about your parents. But hey portrayed you as a straight up badass." You laugh as you both take another drink, finishing your glasses. "Thank you."
