Pushing Buttons

"Steve!" You yell from the bedroom. It had been three weeks since Peter officially moved in and you had adopted him. Everything had been great. The twins loved him, he loved the twins.

Steve and Bucky were happy to have him there and so were you. Peter seemed so happy too. You were all so happy in seemed surreal. Your family felt almost complete. Almost.

"What's wrong?" He yells back. Him and Bucky were in the twins room changing their diapers. You were going to help them change their diapers but they insisted on changing them.

"Peter needs help with his homework, I have no idea what the hell any of these are, can we switch?" You ask. He comes into the room and hands you baby Steven and you hold him while Steve helps Peter with his homework.

"Why do you assume I know how to do any of this?" He asks as he looks through the papers. "Well you were alive when these concepts were invented right?" You ask him.

"That was very mean doll." Bucky says as he enters the room with baby James. "Well he was." You say. "You're calling us both old." Steve says. "It's true." You say. "It's not nice." Bucky says.

"Sorry. I didn't mean it like that I mean I just figured you were alive then maybe you know how to do it." You explain. "Can someone just help me with this homework?" Peter intervenes.

"Why do you even go to school? You're Spiderman." Bucky asks. "That doesn't mean he gets to drop out buck. He still needs an education. He can't just be Spiderman for the rest of his life. They'll be a day when he needs a real job to support himself too." You say.

"Okay mom." Bucky says. "Yes I am a mom. A great one. What about it?" You say. You'd been oddly moody lately and you figured it was just postpartum hormones. You weren't mad at Bucky at all, you weren't mad at anything, you were just teasing now.

But Bucky was also always trying to push your buttons. It was what he did and you always tried to push his buttons too, Steve was the middle man. He kept you both in your toes.

No matter how often you all intentionally got on each other's nerves you all knew it was just jokes and you loved each other more than anything. Steve goes on to help Peter with his homework and you and Bucky take the babies out of the room.

"We're gonna make dinner baby, let us know when you're done." You say and kiss him on the cheek. "Okay, be good, both of you." Steve says. "Yes daddy." Bucky mumbles. "You're horrible." You whisper to Bucky.
