After the procedure-

You were unconscious. You weren't aware of anything going on around you. It was just you lost in your own mind. While the world around you kept moving.

"Bruce I don't know why she isn't waking up. We did everything right." It had been three days since your procedure. And you still hadn't woken up.

You had your powers back, but you were stuck in a deep slumber that you couldn't get out of. "The procedure had only been used to take someone's abilities, not give them back. We reversed the procedure. It should have worked."

"That's what I'm saying. There's no reason she should still be asleep. And I'm being hounded by Barnes and Rogers." They keep going over your vitals, procedure notes, anything to find what was wrong. "They're worried. I am too. If it were Natasha I'd be hounding you too."

"Steve I don't fucking care! I just want her to wake up! They never told us she might not wake up!" Steve and Bucky were on edge, as anyone would be.

Bucky didn't know how to properly process his emotions so he kept lashing out and Steve was dying inside. He had to stay strong for you and Bucky because Bucky was clearly losing it. Steve had to be the rock. And it was hell.

"Bucky you can't just go in there and beat Tony up. Do you want him to find a way to wake her up?" Bucky's jaw clenched and he looks away. "Exactly. So you need to sit tight. Take a breath and let him figure it out."

Bucky sits back down on the bench outside the lab. They had barely left that spot in three days. Wanda and Natasha made sure they were taking care of themselves still, making sure they ate slept and showered. Which was like pulling teeth.

"He never told us this could have happened. They said the worst that could happen was that she would wake up and not have her powers back, that the procedure wouldn't work. They never told us she might not wake up."

"I know." Steve says. He can't say anything else. Bucky is right. But he couldn't let himself get angry or upset because he'd completely lose it.

"What if she doesn't wake up?" Steve knew this question would come up. He was constantly asking it himself, just not out loud. He dreaded this question.

He didn't want to think about it. Because what if she never did. Bucky was panicking. And it was obvious. But Steve was only panicking internally. "She has to."

"Bucky what're you doing? It's the middle of the night." Steve says as he walks into the room you had been moved into. You were still unconscious. It was a week later and Bucky was sitting at your bedside.

"I need to be with her. She's alone." He sniffles, he had been crying. "Can you lay down with her at-least? Get some rest. You haven't slept in a week and a half." Steve walks over and puts his hand on Bucky's shoulder.

"I don't know how you're sleeping. You seem like you don't even care." Steve's still keeping his emotions hidden. Trying to stay strong for you and Bucky.

At this point he can't anymore. He lets go. "I do care Bucky. I want nothing more for her to wake up. I have been fighting to keep myself together do you and for her. But I care Bucky. Because not only do I feel like I'm losing her I feel like I'm losing you too."
