A few days later you're going to train and see Steve in the training room. You stop and stand against the doorframe watching him for a few moments.
He hits the punching bag over and over again until it busts and flies off the hook hanging half way across the room. He takes a short breather and hangs another, working on that one like he did the other.
Sweat rolls down his perfectly formed body. It takes you a moment to snap out of the trance you're in. You step forward away from the door frame and walk towards him.
"My goodness, what did that punching bag ever do to you Captain?" You smile as his eyes meet yours and he chuckles, still hitting the punching bag.
"Hey y/n. Well, it was here and it's meant to be punches so...What're you doing here?" He continues to hit the punching bag. "Well Captain. Since you asked so so nicely..." You tease.
"I was going to train but I see you're working frustrations. So I'll leave you to it." He walks over to his bag unwrapping the tape from his knuckles and wrists.
"Oh don't let me stop you. I think I've finally worked my frustrations out." He throws the tape into his bag and looks up at you. "No it's okay really. Continue, I'll go back upstairs."
"Are you sure? We could train together if you want?" You chuckle as he cracks his knuckles and continues to stare at them avoiding eye contact. "I couldn't possibly Captain."
"Why not? I heard you've got quite the powers. You could handle me." You slip, accidentally saying what you're thinking without meaning to.
"Oh I could handle you Captain..." You bite your lip and look up to him, to find him sitting on the bench in front of you, his jaw dropped slightly.
"I'm so sorry that was awfully crude of me. I-uhm I'll go. I apologize." He chuckles and a weight is lifted off your chest. "No it's okay. Wait don't leave." He puts his hand out reaching for your.
He instantly realizes his action and moves it. "I actually wanted to ask you something." You smile and take a step closer to him. "And what would that be Captain Rogers?"
Just as you thought his reaction would be, he gets flustered when you call him Captain, like he always does. He shakes it off and smiles up at you sweetly.
"Would you like to go out with me sometime?" That was not at all what you expected. But the fact that he asked you, means something. He has to be your soulmate. Right?
"I would love to." You smile back. His eyes are warm and inviting. "Tomorrow night." He says. "I can make you dinner, everyone else is going out tomorrow night." He smiles. "It's a date Captain." You reply.
"You know you're going to have to start calling me Steve and not Captain Rogers right?" You chuckle and walk backwards towards the door, still facing Steve.
"Now why would I want to do that Captain?" He chuckles and shakes his head as you turn around and walk away.
