Summary: Professor Lupin's autistic child has detention with Umbridge and Hermione is there to immediately comfort them afterwards

(Now allow me to mention that I personally do not have autism spectrum disorder but I know that I am educated about the subject to hopefully not offend anybody who does have the disorder. I do have ADHD which has similar symptoms to autism so I know mostly everything... I apologize if I get something wrong, feel free to correct me in the comment section)

Y/N's POV: Soooo, I have detention with Professor Umbridge this evening for a reason that I don't really understand that much. Apparently, I was being incredibly rude during our lesson of Defence Against The Dark Arts this week despite not being able to help it.

I have autism, a muggle developmental disorder that is characterized into social, communication and behavioural problems. My dad has told me a lot about the disorder and most of the professors understand it and make the lessons more suitable for me whilst still making the lessons fun and educational.

My personal favourites is Professor McGonagall and Hagrid, they teach Transfiguration and Care for Magical Creatures respectfully, and they always makes sure to include me in the fun activities.

Hagrid has told me that I have a knack for Care for Magical Creatures, so I really enjoy the lessons.

Anyways, right now, I have detention with Umbridge and from what I've heard from some of the other students, she isn't the nicest person when it comes to punishing her students.

I enter her office, it's full of pictures of cats and the colour pink is plastered throughout the entire room.
"Ah, Mister/Miss Lupin! Take a seat, you are going to be doing some lines for me this evening." She invites me to take a seat with a smile on her face to which I take a seat. "You won't be needing any ink for these."

She hands me a 'special' quill that just looks like my one so I don't understand what is so special about it.

"You need to write 'I must not distract others' as many times as it takes to get the message into your brain." She instructs, I nod and get on with the punishment.

A few seconds into the punishment, my hand begins to sting as I watch the words that I write onto my paper get engraved into my skin. My face scrunches up in pain, as I begin to feel overwhelmed with everything, then her face comes into view.

"Is there something wrong?" She asks me, innocently but she knows what she's doing to me. A creepy smile forms onto her lips as I shake my head, I internally shudder before getting on with the rest of the detention.

After about 20 minutes of 'punishment', I finally get out of detention and let out the pain that I'm feeling in my hand before beginning to head back to my common room.

I bump into Fred, Ron and George and they immediately notice my grimacing expression and sit me down, comforting me.
"Should I go and get Hermione, Y/N?" Ron asks me and I nod, listening to his footsteps growing quieter and quieter as he bolts off.
"It's gonna be alright, Y/N..." George tells me, allowing me to cry into his chest, giving me a warm hug. "Hermione's on her way already."

"Baby, I'm here, okay?" I hear my girlfriend's soft voice, a few minutes later. She lightly inspects my hand, laying her hand against my knee. "We'll head back to my dorm room, cuddle and sort out your hand, honey"

In Hermione's dorm room, she lightly dabs a cloth on my hand, soaking up the blood trickling down it.
"She really is horrible, huh?" She asks me and I nod, hesitantly.
"Why is she like that, 'Mione?" I ask her and she shrugs her shoulders.
"I'm not too sure, baby, but what I do know is that I'm heading to see Professor McGonagall first thing tomorrow to report what has happened." She comforts me, kissing my forehead before wrapping my hand up in a bandage.

The next morning, during breakfast, I head into the Great Hall with Hermione as we take our seat at the table.
"How's that hand of yours doing, Y/N? I've heard about what happened last night..." Harry asks me and I show him my bandaged-up left hand.

"When you have a girlfriend like I do, there's no need to worry about things like this." I remind him, interlocking fingers with my girlfriend who's reading the Daily Prophet.

Hermione smiles at me, pecking my cheek before resting her head against my shoulder to which I kiss her head.
