Ember was upset as she said, "well it is so just drop it. It's a bad argument to get in the middle of." He didn't push just said, "well if you need someone to talk to about it or anything you can trust me, and I promise I won't tell your mom."
Ember rolled her eyes and said, "you don't even know my mom and in any case you will eventually everyone does their all her little spy's. This means she'll know you gave me the picture and that's not a good start for you." Ember started to walk back around but was surprised to see Evelyn come around the corner. Evelyn looked at them and she wasn't happy to find out that Ember had been disregarding the rules and when Evelyn saw Ember, she was talking to someone new. so, she said, "Ember go and get your stuff we're going home." Ember started to argue but could see Evelyn had zeroed in on Gray as Evelyn said, "now."
Ember walked around the corner and heard Evelyn say "you're new here so I'll make this clear now this is my town and that is my daughter I don't mind you hanging out with her but everything you guys do together must be run through me first. you must tell me if she draws or even says anything about wolves. Do I make myself clear?" Gray looked at Evelyn and thought 'she can't be serious I'm not telling her anything. but she doesn't need to know that.' So, he said, "yes crystal clear." Ember felt a ping of disappointment as she heard him say it. She knew he would agree to be one of Evelyn's spies, but she was hoping she was wrong.
Ember walked off and grabbed her stuff when she got to the door, Evelyn took her bag and looked through it for every picture Ember had every drawing. Ember did everything Ember had of the wolves and ripped them right in front of her. Ember was shocked
