kissed her forehead then Alice took Ember's arm and said, "come on we should go." Gray watched her leave as Alice led her away.
Ember trusted Gray to get her back to the pack as soon as possible, but she worried how long that would be as they left. Gray turned back to the council as they continued to argue. He was worried about Ember. he knew he needed to figure this out quickly but he didn't know how to. Alice took Ember to her pack house and introduced Ember to her pack and said, "Ember will be staying with us for a while, dad said, he would explain later."
then one of Alice's pack members came up and asked, "isn't she the girl Koda claimed? why is she staying with us and not his pack?" Alice led Ember away and said, "I told you dad would explain later. ask him your questions, for now she can stay in my room." Alice shut the door behind her and said, "I have an extra bed under my bed if you're tired, we can pull it out. I know you would rather be with Koda and his pack and I'm sorry my dad is doing this, but it might not be as bad as you think." Ember looked at her and said, "it's not you guys it's just..." Ember trailed off as she thought about tonight when the nightmares would start.
Alice looked at Ember and remembered what Gray told her this morning and asked, "it's the nightmares isn't it?" Ember nodded and Alice asked, "what are they about?" Ember told Alice the last nightmare she had. Alice was worried as she said, "I'm sorry I can't believe you dream something like that every night, I couldn't imagine." Ember smiled a sad smile as she said, "at this point I would take my old nightmares back in a heartbeat, the only times I have
