knocked her out and it would have done the same thing?"
Gray looked at him and said, "I let her stab me. I would rather she stabbed me then hurt herself. Demetrius gave her the order to sacrifice herself and to kill anyone who tried to stop her. knocking her out may have freed her but then she still would have blamed herself and think she's a burden to me. I couldn't let her think that." Jack then asked, "how do you know that's the order he gave?" Gray said, "she had already cut one wrist and stopped to attack me when I stopped her from cutting the other one. She was crying so I knew she could see me and then she moved to cut her other one before I moved closer and let her stab me. if I hadn't, she would have cut her other wrist. I couldn't let her do that. It's pretty clear what her orders were." Jack then asked, "what would you do if the portal sealed before getting her out." Gray said, "it wouldn't I left her sword in the portal to keep it from sealing. I knew I needed to make sure it didn't close. It was probably the only way out and I didn't think I could make another portal out."
Jack nodded and said, "So you had a plan to get her out then." Gray smiled and said, "not even close I just made it up as I went there was no time for plans." Jack shook his head and said, "and what if you got killed before getting her out." Gray kept smiling as he said, "I would have got her out before I died even if I didn't make it back, she was going back either way." Jack got mad and said, "don't you think that would upset her if you didn't come back with her."
Gray shrugged and said, "at least she would be alive to be mad at me." Gray walked in; he was tired of this conversation. Ember looked at Gray as they came in
