house the pack asked, where Ember was. Gray just walked past them and headed straight for his room as Kojak explained. Gray slammed his door; the entire pack knew not to bother him when he was that mad. Gray laid down on his bed which felt wrong to him when Ember wasn't there.
He couldn't sleep as he worried about her, he hated not being able to help her and not being near her. He couldn't relax and wound up getting up and going to his desk as he began drawing. Eventually Kojak knocked on the door and said, "Richey is here for Ember's stuff." Gray got up and grabbed her bag and walked past Kojak to the door. The whole pack was not happy about this situation, but they stayed quiet as he passed.
When he got to the door, he handed the bag to Richey without a word. Richey said, "I know you see me as the bad guy but this is the way it should have been from the beginning." Gray said, nothing, he tried to control himself as he thought 'punching him won't help and might make things worse. So, I can't hit him no matter how good it would feel to knock him out.' Richey was testing Gray; he wanted to see if Gray could keep his cool in this or if he would lose control of his emotions. Richey could tell Gray wasn't happy about this whole thing but he stayed in control. Richey left and Gray went back to his room.
Meanwhile, Ember fell asleep at some point as Alice was talking to her. when Ember opened her eyes, she was in the town as it was burning, everywhere she looked everyone was dead and the demon was in front of her. he grabbed her and said, "I can see he is not with you he can't protect you from me not forever, you belong to me and I will get you back one way or another."
