Gray said, "yes in that case though it's more like dating." she said, "this is confusing." Ember smiled and said, "yah and I still have to learn all the rules so I don't get them in trouble." Kayla looked confused and Gray clarified "if she breaks a rule, it's on me not her because she is my responsibility." Kayla asked, "are there a lot of rules?"
Gray shrugged and said, "enough that she shouldn't go into a shifter village without me and every type of shifter has its own various rules." Ember started to get a headache just thinking about it so she said, "how about an alternative I stay here in town, you leave Gray and his pack alone and yes I am a part of the pack I'm referring to, I'll even live at home, but you can't get In the way of our relationship." Evelyn then asked, "or what?" Ember shrugged and said, "we leave and go somewhere you can't find me or can't reach me. The only reason I came back was to see Kayla. They came back to protect me." Evelyn and Angela glared at Ember but she knew she had the advantage in this.
Owen reluctantly agreed, Evelyn and Angela were upset about the agreement. Owen didn't like that his daughter was a shifter's property but as long as she was happy and safe, he wouldn't do anything. Ember said, "good I'll be coming over here after school to learn about the rules so you know where to find me." it was getting late so Ember looked at Gray and asked, "want to walk me home?" Gray agreed and they headed back to her house.
