Jack had stayed back and had given up on trying to get them to listen to him but saw his chance when they stopped.
Angela was angry but then Jack said, "as I've been trying to tell you he won't hurt her. She has been claimed by his pack. He will continue to do what he can to protect her from any threat." they flinched and Ember thought, 'if my parents didn't know before they know now.' Angela looked at Jack and asked, "when did this happen and how do you know it's true?" Jack then said, "I saw it happen myself. He announced his claim to a large number of shifters who were about to attack us after he freed them from a spell, they were under. Some knew we weren't a part of it but most thought we were. He claimed her so he could protect her but she accepted so the claim still stands. If you try to take her from him now there will be trouble from what I've gathered not even an army of shifters wants to go against them. They are high ranked in their community and it would break the treaty we have with the shifters. his pack has done nothing wrong." the group backed off and Angela said, "why didn't you say something sooner?"
Angela wasn't happy about this development, Jack said, "I tried multiple times you wouldn't listen." Gray walked up behind Ember and draped his arms around her. They all looked at him as he said, "as long as she wishes I will protect her." Ember leaned against him and said, "I will not give up the claim either so don't even ask." Kayla came up and asked, "what's a claim?"
