and went to answer it. when he opened the door Anna asked, "has Ember woke up yet?"
Gray told her "she hasn't yet." Anna wanted to know whether Ember accepted the claim or not but Gray didn't know yet because she was still asleep. He shut the door and turned around. Ember had just woken up. She sat up and looked at him. He stopped a little bit away from her and said, "good morning. Did you sleep well?"
Ember smiled and said, "for the most part you still need to explain what happened yesterday." he said, "I know but just don't be mad okay." Ember smiled and said, "okay just tell me then I'll decide." he then said, "that's fair. In our culture to claim someone is like dating however that only applies when it's two shifters. when one is human, it changes its meaning. it's more of a deal that we will protect you and you do what we ask of you in exchange. The difference is I'm not asking anything of you but to the shifters outside of the pack you are essentially my property. for you nothing changes in the way you interact with the pack except they no longer have to say it was an order to protect you they can just do it without anyone saying anything. Also, any threats to you are like them threatening me. If you break a rule, I get the punishment because you are my responsibility. it is the closest a human can come to being in a pack. you can deny the claim if you want. we just shouldn't tell anyone outside the pack that way we can still protect you without complications. Do you understand?" Ember said, "I understand, I think. So, to everyone I am your property if someone attacks me you can defend me without question and so can the pack. if I break a rule you get in trouble for it right."
