 Gray shook his head and said, "that's Ember's sword she found it under the bed when the beast showed up." Anna tried to pick it up, but it burned her, and she said, "try to pick up the sword." Gray looked at her; he knew those swords only pick one person as a wielder, but he did as she said. it didn't burn him instead he recognized it and knew it was the other half of his sword and knew it could make portals as his could make barriers. he opened a portal to his uncle Pete's house the pack went first, and Gray went last with Ember.

Gray didn't understand why his sword chose two wielders instead of just him, but he was happy she found it. He was able to get her out of there and to a doctor. Pete sowed Gray's shoulder up after checking on Ember's wounds. Pete lived in a cabin in the woods. He had blonde hair and green eyes. He used to be a hunter.

Pete was not related to Gray, but he was Gray's godfather and Gray's dad's closest friend and Gray was raised seeing Pete as an uncle. Pete helped to set up the treaty between the shifters and the hunters with Gray's dad. The hunters bend the rules of the treaty but have never broken them, but they have gotten close a couple of times. The walls of his cabin were light blue almost gray When he was done Pete looked at Gray and asked, "why didn't you go to the healing spring and why do you have this girl with you? if I'm right she is the granddaughter of Angela. so, what happened?" Gray looked at Ember and said, "she was taken by a beast I went after her. she is a friend of the pack; I couldn't just leave her."

Pete looked at him and said, "you usually don't get hurt when you go into a fight, how did this happen
