then she would be alone again. How could he do that to her? how was he going to explain that it was safer for her?
As they hung out, he tried to think of a way but couldn't he didn't want to leave her behind but if he stayed, she could be killed next time. he couldn't let that happen as he walked her home, he decided to write her a short note explaining the situation and give her the drawings she had when they first met. he had taped them back together he was going to redraw them but he didn't have time for that now. the longer he stayed the more danger she would be in so that's what he did. When he got home, he gathered everyone and let them in on the letter and that if they stayed Ember would be in danger.
None of them wanted to leave but they knew they had to in order to protect her. They packed up their important things and they left. He stopped by Ember's house and knocked on the door. He didn't know what to say if Ember answered. luckily it was Kayla who answered he asked, "can you give this to Ember for me?"
Kayla was surprised and curious as she asked, "why don't you give it to her?" but when Gray said, "please just give it to her." Kayla didn't ask again; she just held out her hand and said, "fine." They left that night and went to Pete's cabin. Gray unpacked and told the rest of them to go home.
