He walked over and picked her up, carried her upstairs and put her in his room. After he covered her up, he went back down. Anna and his grandma were already heading to bed. Anna got him a pillow and blanket. He laid down on the couch and fell asleep. When Ember woke up, she realized she was in a bedroom and her phone was going off.
She looked around and she didn't recognize anything. it felt familiar though it was almost empty but it was obviously someone's bedroom she sat up and answered her phone it was Kayla. she sounded scared which had Ember on edge. Ember asked, Kayla if everything was alright, Kayla said, "I think something is on the roof." Ember told her "Be quiet and let me hear." Kayla did and Ember heard some background noise and said, "I'll be there in a minute."
Ember hung up and ran downstairs and said, "I have to go something's come up thank you for letting me stay during the storm." Anna and Gray's grandma smiled at her, but Gray could tell something was wrong so he got up and asked, "is everything all right?" Ember was bad at lying and Gray knew that so when she said, "everything's fine." He looked at her and said, "you're lying what's wrong?" Before she could say anything, she heard howling coming from the back room.
Ember listened closely and recognized the howls she looked at the door and asked, Gray "what was that?" he looked at her unsure of what to say so he said, nothing. Anna came out of the living room as Ember pushed past Gray, she ducked past Anna and bolted for the door as she heard Anna trying to stop her. Ember opened the door as soon as Gray grabbed her arm.
