anger shot through Ember and she grabbed the first thing she could and was about to hit Jack with it. Gray caught her and said, "Now who's letting their anger get the better of them." He was smiling slightly as he took the sword and placed it back in the Sheath placing it out of her reach. Ember crossed her arms and said, "he shouldn't have said, that. to even think the pack would hurt anyone is ridiculous." Gray smiled more as he said, "not all shifters are like us just like not all humans are like you."
She relaxed against him and said, "You're right but I'm still not talking to this guy anymore." Gray made Jack leave Pete came in after Jack left and gave Ember some soup, she ate it after she was done. Gray took her bowl and set it on the nightstand. He leaned against the wall and Ember leaned against him. She fell asleep quickly.
After Gray was sure she was asleep he moved off the bed. Pete came in as Gray was laying Ember down and whispered "she seems to really trust you." Gray shrugged and said, "she is my friend, why wouldn't she?" Pete smiled and asked, "does she know the truth yet." Gray covered Ember as he said, "yes Demetrius told her the first time he took her. He probably thought it would make her hate me but she trusts me more now than she did before."
Pete was surprised most people who hear their friend isn't human tend not to trust them but Ember had the opposite reaction. Even Pete still didn't trust the pack completely. He knew they wouldn't hurt anyone unless pushed but they could if someone pushed the wrong button. for Koda's pack that button was clearly Ember. if anyone hurt her Gray went crazy
