"What about runes? I would have seen if you'd had any."

Luci rolled her eyes. "Well, it's not like you were looking. You know, it's easy to miss things when you're too wrapped up in your pretty little girlfriend. Or I'm guessing it's ex-girlfriend now."

She him make an angry sound under his breath, could almost feel the dagger-like glare he shit her, and knew she'd hit a nerve.
She grinned a little, gesturing with her hand as she lead them through the halls.

"Come on, this way."

"What are you looking for anyway? Let's just go."

"Please, feel free to leave anytime. It'd make my life a whole lot easier."

He fell silent, tugging frustratedly at the collar of his jacket and scrutinizing her in quick, angry glances.

"Come on, the sooner this is done, the sooner you get to go track down lovely Miss L'Ange... And her psychotic doppleganger too, if you really want.
I mean, I'm not judging. I can kind of see the attraction..."

Before he could think of a retort, she stopped sharp in front of a door. "Here. I think."

She opened the door to another bedroom, and immediately crossed to a chest of draws, reaching inside. "Aha! Found them! Okay, now we can go."

Sebastian eyed what she'd got in her hand.
"Plastic swords?"

"They're a present for someone, okay?"

"You wasted our time for children's toys?"

"I did say you could leave. If you feel like your time's been wasted, that's not my problem.
You should be more grateful, you know. I don't have to help you."

"Yes, that's what I'm wondering. You don't have to help. Why are you?"

"I have... reasons.
Just to be clear though, I in no way like you as a person. But that's not the point, is it?"
She grinned.
"Come on. Let's get out of here before something happens."
