105. In the dark

"Your Highness, the twin knights are here."

Rahel announced outside the bedroom. It was last the thing that Ajax heard as he fell completely into deep slumber.

While Rowan was giving the twin knights their mission, Ajax began a mission of his own into the Land of Hypnos.

Ajax found himself blinded by the darkness that surrounded him. The cold and eerie silence penetrated his bones and entire being with fear.

"Hello."

Ajax said. However, he heard his own voice echoed.

"Please, is anyone there?"

Ajax continued. Still, the same thing happened and his own voice echoed.

Slowly, he made a step not knowing what was ahead of him.

"I have to be strong." He said himself. "I cannot stand still and do nothing. I have to move forward."

In the darkness, Ajax made advance sliding his foot one at time with his arms stretched out in front of him. He continued to walk with a turtle-like pace as he bravely went further into the unknown.

Due to the darkness that surrounded him, time was irrelevant. It seemed time never existed and he was just walking perpetually with no sign that darkness was going to end. Ajax was also unsure if his efforts were fruitful or futile as he could not see where he was heading.

"I feel like I am walking in circles." Ajax said as he stopped for a bit. "What is this place, anyway?"

"Hello."

Ajax tried again. However, this time his voice did not echo.

"Hello." A voice answered back. It sounded like it came from a boy.

"Who are you? Where are you?" Ajax said excitedly.

Nothing.

"Am I imagine things? Am I going crazy?"Ajax thought.

"Please talk to me." Ajax pleaded.

Silence.

Time passed again. Ajax still had no clue where he was or how long he had been walking in the dark. He stopped for a moment.

Suddenly, he saw a light blinked from a distant. At first, he thought he was imagining it. However, the light flashed even brighter. Ajax, then, found himself running towards the light.
