The regent thought hard and agonized on what to do next.

However, it was like playing chess that no matter which move he choose, he knew that he would still lose, either way. In short, checkmate.

There was no use in prolonging the inevitable. Regent Iollan knew that there was no way of getting around this predicament. He wished that he had more time, but, in actuality, time was never on his side to begin with.

The war between these two clans would affect millions of innocent lives. This war or any war for that matter must be prevented at all cost as not to repeat the history of the Great War. This the foundation of the Council of Regents, and if the Regency could not prevent such occurrence, then, might as well abolish the institute of the Regency. The constitution that should safeguarding the concord of Adamah, if would fail in this event, should be castrated as it would prove to be impotent.

On the other hand, it would be equally perilous to endow such influence on a hand few, much more to the hands of a sole entity whose motives of making such demands were not out whimsical desires nor appetite for gratification or power.

Nay, the said the Regent to himself.

The man before him never portrayed such characteristics. But, what if all that he had shown the world was nothing but falsity version of his self?

Those were the debates that were going on in the Regent's head. Those voices of yeas and nays, of trust and mistrust, of altruism or lust for power, the what-haves and what-nots, and so much more. The Regent would never know, at that moment, what exactly the true causes of Luca for making such trying demands.

And, whatever he was thinking at that instance, was deemed irrelevant, for only one answer was needed that would make or break the fate of Adamah.

"Agree." Regent Iollan resigned to Luca's conditions.
