After Abigail was legally taken away from her father, she was placed in a children's home in New York. With hours of studying, she had graduated from high school in 2013 with a reasonably good grade. Now she worked at the grocery store where she had done her last robbery in 2012, before joining the Avengers. She was still plagued by memories of her past, but it was the only job she had gotten. It had been three years since the last reunion between the two of them, and in that time she hadn't answered a call or even a message from Nat. If she was going to get closure, she needed distance from everything, including the person who had been her everything. Sadie and Elisha came to the store from time to time to make fun of Abigail, but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been when she was in school. She also had no contact with Danny anymore.
Not that she didn't wanted to, but he was now part of the Avengers and having contact with him would eventually bring her back into contact with Tasha. Well that was her normal life now. If you left out her powers and past at least.
