That day, Connor didn't show up, I asked my coworkers several times if they had seen him, they all denied it and I started to worry, I had a dark certainty in my mind; something had gone very wrong with my boyfriend and William had something to do with it.
Rebecca immediately noticed my nervousness and asked.
"Are you okay, (Y/n)?"
I shook my head.
"No, Becky, I'm not okay."
"Let me guess... Are you like this because of Connor?"
"Yes" I let out a sigh. "Since we met, he always comes here for lunch, but today he didn't show up."
"(Y/n), don't be silly, you said yourself he got a job on the night shift, Connor must be sleeping by now."
"Do you think?"
"Of course. Or he's planning something for you."
I nodded, averting my gaze, Rebecca could be right, a night shift job must be exhausting, and Connor had actually commented on making a surprise one day. But even with my coworker's reassuring words, I still had a strange feeling about Connor. I spent the whole day with this feeling that something serious had happened.
