136: Gray VS Gems

Normal P.O.V

There was a state of shock and disappointment in Fairy Tail as they heard Gems talk to Gray. Gems didn't know everyone was listening and was pouring his heart out.

“He has to give up his magic to save his parents...” Natsu spoke in anger. “He doesn't deserve this!” he added. Natsu remembered every time Gems helped them and took care of the team, and couldn't help but feel even more bad for Gems. And blamed himself for judging Gems without knowing the full story.

Makarov on the other hand didn't feel good either.

“Gray... I don't want to fight you.” Gems said with a shaky voice. “I already feel miserable for attacking Natsu and injuring him. I don't want to hurt you too. I... I can't do it...” Gems cried.

Gray glided his hand over Gems's cheek and shook his head no.

“Leave that on me, there won't be a match between us... I promise.” Gray said as he got closer and wrapped his arm around Gems. 

“Are you feeling any better after letting it all out?” Gray asked again.

“I don't know Gray... How would a person feel knowing they're not strong enough to do something yet they are forced to put on a mask and portray themselves as the strongest... It's the hardest because you know you're trying to be someone that you're not.” Gems shed more tears. The pain in his voice was felt by Gray.

Gray's heart was hurting seeing Gems like that.

“I am so sorry...” Gray mumbled holding back tears. “I promise you Gems, you are not alone in this... I am with you, every step you take, I'll be with you. And I promise I will pull you out of this mess, I will save you and your parents, trust me Gems... Trust me.” Gray said as he made Gems look at him.

Gems's eyes were red and puffy due to all the crying and his voice was shaking.

Gray was enraged and was hell bound on making Seth pay for his crimes and for everything he made Gems do.

Gray pulled Gems closer and hugged him, rubbing circles on his back with one hand. And with his other hand, Gray disconnected the mobile lacrima without Gems noticing and put it back in his pocket.

Fairy Tail was stunned as they heard the truth and were forced to think about the choices they had to make while moving forward in the tournament.

Meanwhile Gems was a mess.

“Gemsie... Stop crying...” Gray mumbled as he wiped Gems's tears away. “I'm here...you don't have to be afraid anymore.” Gray mumbled.

“G-Gray I am s-so sorry... I didn't mean to say those words... Yesterday... I h-had to.. Because Seth is always watching me... I'm so sorry...” Gems cried while looking at Gray. Fresh warm tears making their way out.

Gray sighed as he tightened his grip around Gems.

“I wanna apologize as well...” Gray said and Gems just looked at him with a confused look on his face. “For calling you a coward, you're anything but a coward... For telling that I don't want you anymore on first day... The truth is... I still want you more than anything... I can't live without you Gemsie... It has been hell without you... I can't do it without you besides me. I need you in my life...” Gray said holding back tears. Gems looked at him and went in wrapping his arms around the older male.

Gray let himself fall on the bed with Gems in his arms.

“I missed you like crazy.” Gems mumbled while sniffing, the sadness in his tone was detectable.
